I just tried Natrox's fixed and it got my game to work. His readme said it still make not work on particularly old processors. Other than that, you may be unfortunate enough to be experiencing two, separate game-breaking bugs?

@ProfessorEDF: I agree wholeheartedly. And yeah, they are passing the buck all right - in two paragraphs that are curiously missing from the English version of the announcement in this thread. Here is my translation from the Japanese version.

It hurts me to see my favorite game handled so poorly.

This is a trend among Japanese developers appearantly. Lots of are other games are the same: nice basic support, 1080p 60fps with some options here and there, but when bugs come up they are really slow for some reason, probably because of their poor experience with the platform, and the community would've already come up with a fix by then. It's true that this is entirely their fault, but I doubt being too harsh on them would help at all.

I don't mean to be harsh, but, most of these are very basic bugs. And bugs are one thing, but rendering the game completely unplayable is a huge problem. It's amplified by the fact that there was day 1 DLC, which feels like misplaced effort. I'm not sure they should be diverting time and resources to developing additions when the main game still isn't completely stable.

I have the same issue

Laptop
Intel i7-4702 2.20 GHz
16 GB RAM
Windows 10 64 bit
GeForce GT 740M

Game seems to work fine in Single Player, but crashes and freezes more often in Mutliplayer and I have given the program the ability to run as Admin.

*UPDATE*
The game plays fine up until Mission 20, then it chugs horribly for me until it crashes every time on Mission 22. I also tried what Guardian did 2 posts below me and tried Wing Diver but got same exact results as my Ranger.

I have a GTX Titan X. My game was freezing in the lobby after playing one round and sometimes getting stuck on "Matching" when loading a map in multiplayer. I turned off letterbox and reduced my resolution from 3840x2160 to 1920x1080. No problems since.

For multiplayer, I know people are saying they're getting issues if their character name is too long. Test it out with a short name and see if that makes a difference.

offline freeze..........

this guy made a fix for the SSE 4.1 problem

Crap. I used this but the game just freezes when I try to make a save file. I have no idea what is wrong. There is no way in hell that my system is too old or weak. I can play games like DOOM on max settings and not have slowdown, there is no effin way that EDF is too advanced for my computer.

I have :
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor
AMD Radeon R9 200Series Graphics Chipset

Is there something I don't know?

I have tried the fix patch in the forum, but CTD still happens when multiplaying. Q.Q

My Computer:
CPU: Intel i7-6700
GPU: Geforce GTX1080
DirextX: 11
RAM: 32GB

It must not be hardware issue I think. Q.Q

Natrox's fix doesn't work for everyone. Many people, including myself, cannot get the game working despite meeting system requirements and being fully up to date on drivers.

I have no faith that the devs are going to fix this, so I suggest getting a refund while you can.

Already done. The game looks amazing, and I'll probably rebuy if it ever actually gets fixed, but I couldn't hold out for a patch that might never come.

Same here. I love EDF, but I can't justify giving money unless I know the game will work. I really hope they fix it.
TheAdmiral Aug 4, 2016 @ 8:16pm
Just sayin', for those that are subscribed to discussion but didn't catch wind, the last patch supposedly fixes the Phenom issue. Again, I used Natrox's patch, so, maybe it's just that, but my game is working fine currently.
Oonue Aug 6, 2016 @ 11:09am
The game crashes when attempting to skip the intro movies, and eventually locks up during game play. I refunded the game, however I am willing to pick it back up again if a fix comes out. The developer response leads me to believe that they aren't willing to investigate it and rather pass it off as a user problem.
