I need a little help with using emotes and etc

Here's my problem, whenever I press the button to bring up the emote menu it takes me straight to the chat, quick chat works fine though, I can't find any button in the controls that could bring me to the emote menu instead of taking me directly to chat as well, if anybody could help me that would be great.

if you're not using a controller, as said above, press one of the directional arrow keys beside the numpad. once you get used to what each menu has in it, it becomes pretty fast to have a 'conversation' tbh.

I'm using a mouse and keyboard, when I click T it goes straight to chat instead of letting me chose which menu that I can go into, I tried using right click to try and go back but it just takes me out of the menu all together.

By going straight to the chat I mean where you can type to other players

if you press t you will go straight to multiplayer chat but if you press the up arrow it opens up the dialogue menu than you use up and down arrows to find the option you want and press the right arrow key

Okay so I tried that, didn't work, but then I used the arrow keys without it up and it went to the menu, thanks mates
