Short answer to " Solo with 3500" : Dont even try.
You need more hp.
Also you will need time to waste and patience.
You will be in the same mission for more than 1 hour(more than 2 maybe) before the last hive dies.
This is not a common mission that needs 20 mins and good luck.
I refuse to lower my Armor. I will do it. One way or the other. I will find a way.

Yeah. I will. Though I do need to mention that it is still 90% EDF 2025. Even the DLC packs are similar. The hardest missions on DLC 1 and DLC 2 I should still be able to Solo Inferno with 3500 Armor as I did it back then on EDF 2025.
Just one thing. On Inferno, whether low or high Armor. What do Wing Divers normally do to take care of Hives?
That my friend is important information I didn't know. Regardless, I could single player offline it then. OR I could say with these conditions... I am allowed to have 3500 HP x 2.88 HP as its the same defense then despite the enemies dying late.
Still... I think If I have to do it Solo... not point in going Online cuz Online is for other people to get in and have fun with you. Unless ofcourse... I want even more insane challenge. Though I think this would be biting off more than I can chew based on 2.88 more damage.
Even with 2x/3x that hp you will have a bad time.
You soloed This game until Demon Army without noticing the multipliers.

In all honestly. I havn't begun with Inferno yet. I did do a few hard missions solo but like just 5. I'm currently at only 2300 HP and collecting weapons first as well as reaching 3500 while I try my luck at the weapons.
Though in all honesty, I think EDF 2025 was harder than this. The reason why I might not have noticed the damage boosts is because the damages even online are just slightly better than EDF 2025. At least that's how I am feeling.
The speed at which dragons can kill me feel very similar. The damage regular ants and spiders do also feel similar so I didn't notice. It could be that EDF 2025 single player damage was much higher than this game... because I did notice a few things. Some of the missions are waaaaaay easier in EDF 4.1 than in EDF 2025. There are many missions while going through Normal, Hard and Hardest where I noticed you either have Soldiers in missions where they didn't used to be before OR you have way more soldiers in missions you did have soldiers before.
Moreover, unlike EDF 2025 where in most cases, the soldiers would die pretty quick. They did a good job with the HPs of soldiers in 4.1. In most missions, they can take a hell lot of beating before dieing.

By your first question i read like you soloed all the way to demon army, and thats the only mission you have problems with. Nevermind.
I've beat the game several times in Normal, Hard and Hardest. I know what will give me trouble and what will not roughly in Inferno. By far, Demon Army is the biggest culprit in my case.
WD is already pretty strong. Of course she isn't Air Raider tier broken but she's still really good.
In EDF 2025, Hard missions like Monster Camp had very less NPCs for you compared to here.
Then some other hard ones like the one with 3 Ships (2 Drags and 1 Bees) it was a solo mission... no reinforcements.
