No save data file located??
I have a saved game file that reads when i log into edf 4.1 but does not allow me to save anymore for some unknown reason.. I clearly have a save file in my folders because when i sign in it even pulls up my callsign name aside from deleting my progress entirely it still registers my over 3k hp ranger with all weapons i have accumulated thus far but it no longer allows me to gather more of anything.. Can someone please help me with this atrocious dilemma?

Your save data should be in under C:\Users\(yourpc)\Documents\My Games. Go in there and see if it exist. IT should be called SAVE DATA. If it's not there you can try verifying the game files via steam.

The Save Data is normally stored in C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\My Games\EDF4.1

If you are able to locate the Save Data there, you should make sure that it is not set to "Read Only", because that would cause the game to be unable to save.

If anything fails you could try to verify the integrity of the game files.

Have you tried to turn off the Ransomware protection ?

One update about a week ago fixed the problem then a second update one day later that was about 35kb created the problem again.. There is absolutely nothing i can do about this and it is too frustrating for me to deal with daily when i just want to enjoy the product I purchased! I am not asking for much here!

I know where the save data file is but i cannot seem to keep the game from deciding when it feels like acknowledging my save game file so that i may actually play the game without getting unnerved by constant completions of missions just to get a message that pops up right after saying failed to save game file with a yes or no underneath that if you hit no will continue indefinitely and when you click yes has to be reclicked 6 times in order to get out of that screen otherwise whole game locks up in that screen, suggestions? (aside from going to save data file and ensuring it is not read only)

(what if i did all that and it keeps switching itself back to a read only file after the fact?)

...and i also know it is not due to not meeting minimum system requirements either because i am above the minimum with everything including directx 12, so if anyone can give a real answer to help me fix this that would be great!

I think this has something to do with being recognised as the Administrator by your computer.

I'm not sure if that's the case, but I encountered simular issues on my PC where files kept making themself hidden or read-only.

I could solve the problem for myself by using a programm that adds the option to "Take Ownership/Resore Rights" for the file.

The program is called "Take Ownership" and is free.

I did that take ownership suggestion and it worked for one day then it went back to negating any of it.. not sure why i can get a one day fix for this problem and then it continues again. I may look into other options to attempt to alleviate this issue. Thank you for the help regardless!

The problem solving techniques work for a day then it goes back to failed to locate save data file and it asks me to select yes or no, if i choose no it continues to prevent me from doing anything and if i click yes then it requires 6 times total to select yes before it gets me to the screen where mission result is and it constantly repeats itself.. not sure why but this has got to be the most annoying bug in any game i have ever purchased or played! i bought the time of the mutants expansion and for 1 day it worked normally, after that, it went right back to the same bug which is odd considering all my game data leading up to that point including achievements should somehow tell the game it is making a mistake with not reading a file that clearly exists! I just don't know what to do anymore..

Best I can figure is it's either Windows 10 being an idiot about permissions or you've got a very overprotective antivirus program like BitDefender (apparently). Here's some older threads about similar issues, though I've no idea if you'll find anything useful among them:
