Robot Alchemic Drive.
Probably one of the best games of my childhood, made by the people that bring you EDF.

Anybody else here ever play that classic?

YES, god yes. One of the main reason why I even bought edf 4.1 is because of BALAM. Pretty much a very simplified version of robot alchemic drive controls. Though I wish it could move faster, and maybe have different collored variants.

I still own the blue back disk of RAD and played it a number of times. NOTHING came close to how that game controls and it is why I love it so.

Sandlot is a dev I know will make good games. Heavy on the cheese but gameplay will always be top tier in its own way.

If you guys like RAD, try Sandlot's Tetsujin 28-gou (Iron Man no. 28) on PS2, which is a sort of continuation to RAD. It's faster, more cinematic and more fluid on the whole than RAD, also it has way better framerate, production values and like 90% less downtime (which is the main thing I hated about RAD, as it takes ages to get into action)

It's only in japanese, but knowledge of the language isn't really required, apart from the very first mission which can be confusing at first
