Mafia 1 Fullscreen problems

Hello, I'm having a rather annoying problem in which my game launches in a window that covers up most of the screen but still has those damn borders. Can't find a way to make it fullscreen... suggestions?

There are also other problems such as not being able to use the mouse to move the camera around.

I had a similar problem after upgrading to Windows 10. I fixed it using a program called Windowed Borderless Gaming.

Same problem here, but borderless gaming didn't work. Game worked fine on Windows 8.1 before I upgraded though

I had the same problem but I Ctrl+alt+del to bring up task manager while the game is running. Under proceses I click on the > next to mafia. then right click on the new line and there is an option to maximize. I click on that and its full screen again. I have to do this everytime I launch the game but it works.

A lot of old games can't run fullscreen anymore in windows 10. Some games can't run aa either.

Using SweetFX automatically starts the game in full screen.

1) Extract it.
2) Copy SweetFx folder, ReShade.fx, Sweet.fx and reShade32.dll to steam mafia main directory.
3) Rename ReShade32.dll to d3d8.dll
4) In SweetFX folder replace SweetFX_settings.txt with the Old Movie Config V2.1 preset that you get here https://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/4445/ so you just rename SweetFX_Settings_Mafia_Old Movie Config V2.1.txt to SweetFX_settings.txt and overwrite the one in the SweetFX folder.

Game launches in full screen.

P3ndula, thanks for the help, once you do as you have instructed above, how do you get rid of the " SweetFX " watermark in the middle of the screen please ?

this comes up when you reconfigure the controlling wrong. reset the configuration and be careful when you configure the keys.
