Mostly depends on how "early on" and how much grinding you are willing to do.

If you are on chapter 1, I'd say to push through the boss battle, because even the map right before it is not that great.
From chapter 2 onward, you can replay a map that had a boss battle on it, the boss will be replaced with a generic character instead, but it will still be about similar in power for the most part.

This means higher level, which translates to more exp, mana and money when you kill them.

Aditionnally, you can use the "punch" (money punch, mana punch and exp punch) on them (and/or on other targets) to squeeze even a bit more.
Some characters also have a similar effect in their passive for when they deal the final hit.

After you reach past level 5 or so with at least 2-3 characters (can be done with only 1, but way harder), you can try to make a dungeon from the dungeon monk.
Ideally, you want medium size and average number of enemies, few floors, level 3 enemies, and not restricted on the items.
Item type depends on you, but weapons (axes and such) usually are not the best to start as they don't give much confine bonus and still give a lot of malus. Item type depends mostly on your characters, weeds/flowers are good if your mages are good, but they weaken your physical fighters for example.
Enemy type is mostly up to you, some are weak and easy to kill but bring less, others are stronger but bring more, humanoid ones let you unlock their classes easily.

What you want in there is to clear out the enemies, potentially bring back a few items with you, but most importantly, don't forget to try and confine your non-combatants like dungeon monk and merchant, provided they wouldn't die (you can wait for when most enemies are dead).
Be careful abou the last floor, as it will be a boss battle, or a melee with a lot of enemies, and you might not have the power to clear that yet, so summoning a dungeon monk on the floor right before the last and using his skill to exit can work for the best for you early on.

Remember, the basic rule for mana/exp/money is that the higher level the enemy, the more they will give when killed.
There are things that affect this, like the type of the enemy, titles, protections and the effect from skills, but for the most part level still greatly influences how much they give.

One you have Dungeon Monk & Titilist you can use "Failure" -trick. Make dungeon thats 3 times or even higher than your current level, change dungeon title to "Failure". Go to dungeon & use Bottlemail to get items with highest mana (or just strong weapons).

You guys seem to fail to get the "early on" part I think.

Faillure dungeons is only possible past chapter 3 (unless you know what you are doing and unlock the titlist through dungeons, but that's not something I'd send a new player towards) and getting items for money and mana requires that you do it with items of a somewhat high level.

Admitedly, "early on" is not precise on where that person is, but for failure dungeons and item confining to actually make decent mana and money, you kind of need to go with levels above 30, which can in turn ruin the balance of the game, especially if it's the first time you play through the game (all plateforms combines I mean).

Considering the game is 20 something chapters, Chapter 3 is early. No need for Level 30+ for a Failure Dungeon, as even 10 would be fine for one, which is very reasonable by time you unlock em.

No need to be 30+ to run a faillure dungeon, but to use it as a source of money and mana, you actually kind of need it to be high level, or you would gain just as much by running a normal dungeon of your own level and just killing the enemies.

I'm not saying it's not a good source of mana, money and even exp, but it takes a bit before you can actually kickstart it and get good returns from it.

I guess it's just my own experience, but I only find faillure dungeons worth it when I get characters powerful enough to wipe the enemies and destroy some of the items on that floor (it does grant mana, exp and money too by the way).
Before that point, while you can get one item here and there for a few thousands of mana, it's not that great of a source, compared to running a weaker dungeon with many enemies and earning a lot by wiping the floor with them with a combination of higher stats and area skills.
how skilled you are and understanding of the game can effect how how effective you are at running dungeons.

i feel if this will get toxic if this goes on.:Horzine:

I've sunk hundreds of hours into Phantom Brave across its various releases and re-releases. I've currently got a level 3100 Marona running around with a vase that gives a million to each stat and I've only finished the tutorial -- absolutely no story progress whatsoever. I've exclusively been using dungeons.

So yes, the 'best' way to get money and mana is, at any phase of the game, to go into dungeons and steal items. But as mentioned by others, this requires previous knowledge about how the game's systems and unlocks work, and frankly telling this stuff to a newbie will spoil the game. Phantom Brave is HILARIOUSLY broken, which is a big part of why I love it. Figuring out how and why is a huge part of the fun!

the title only one time use

if you're not able to complete the dungeon you don't get it back
