Same here. This is why I have to quicksave every 5-6 minutes in the event of it crashing.
That's what plenty of people have said. You have to quicksave every 5-10 minutes.
Edit: Make sure you save before EVERY big sister fight. For whatever reason, 95% of the game crashes happen during big sister fights. Also try to avoid fighting in graphically complex areas. For whatever reason, fighting in less graphically complex areas seems to reduce the odds of a crash significantly.
AT LEAST IT ISN'T XCOM
It keeps crashing on Windows 10 as early as the incinerate plasmid mission/ first real fight with a Big Sister.
Then I tried it on Arch Linux with Proton GE/ Vulkan and the game was 100% stable until the end. Minerva's Den DLC worked flawlessly as well.
This year has been the best for the remaster I am getting achievements that have been broken since I first played in 2017, I will finally be able to 100 percent the game achievement wise, have experienced no game breaking bugs, I have had zero crashes playing on windows 10 and i'm all the way at Inner Persephone in game, its actually running flawlessly for the first time ever.
EDIT 1/11- I was able to play it after deleting all my saved game files except for the most recent. Further instead of Auto/ Quicksaving, I just overwrote the last save with a normal Save. Then I deleted my that Bioshock.ini file that everyone tells you to edit. I closed the game and Steam and reopened the game, it created a new one and started working. I think the core issue was Quick saving with F11. I think it screws up the game. I suspect that everyone has a different problem with a different fix but everyone has a problem.
All that to say, its really scandalous that Steam doesn't grant some consideration/refund for a broke game if youve played for 2 hours . It took me 10 hours to fix their broke product. Theres no conversation, they just email you We are unable to refund this purchase to your {credit card} ending with ## at this time. Your playtime of an included product exceeds 2 hours (our refund policy maximum). I know that there are people out there that didnt get it to work and Steams all, I got your money get fkd. This is a Remastered version of one of the most popular games in the last few decades, there's no accountability. Makes you think twice about giving money to a company that cant back their product. I hope people start reading this and opt out Its honestly not worth it.
EDIT: 1/13 Tried playing through the game again now that I "fixed it" and it started crashing again. Fk Steam. Way to back your sht games. Now the real question... Whats Bioshock 4 or Judas going to play like.
I think the spear weapon is bugged from what people say, it's supposed to push enemies but it doesn't
edit: nvm.. the crashes started to happen
