I got it running on two SSDs in raid 0.

Guess i could try making a new steam library on my windows partition.

I had the stuttering/framerate problem until I shut off framerate limiting in EVGA Precision.

*shrug* Maybe this will help someone else.

Edit: VSYNC is enabled ingame.

Damn stupid, the original bioshock 2 runs flawlessly on my rig... and this being just a bit of fresh paint untop of it i cant for the life of me understand how they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up this mutch... i mean its still running on the same engine and everything... it is more of a graphics mod than anything else.

Problem i got is framedrops in strange places where there shouldnt be any. Hmm.. this and the damn fov... guess il have to wait.

Having micro stutters (mini fps drops, like 4,5 frame dips) every few seconds for some reason on gtx 960. Mouse acceleration is disabled in both the game and ini. Also disabled AO in nvidia cp, installed new drivers and tried playing with both vsync and without it but its still happening. Don't know what else to do, guess its the bad case of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This didn't happen in original release.

i found: modify a files Bioshock2sp.ini (system\user\...\AppData\Roaming\BioshockHD\Bioshock2) open .ini and search:

entiled:
[XeDrv.XenonClient]
...
...
MinDesiredFrameRate=35.000000 (modify to 60 or max 144.....).

now never 30fps hole! min 59!

in panel nvidia, change vsync on to "adaptative"
and OC off

I think that's normal, I have a GTX 970 with the 372.70 drivers and occasionally, I'd have fps drops for a few seconds and then it would go back to a solid 60 (vsync)

actually i found this in another post,

go to Nvidia Control Panel>Manage 3d settings> the program settings tab. add bioshock 2 from the drop down list. turn off ambient occlusion

people in the other thread argued that bioshock 2 doesnt use ambient occlusion, but for whatever reason when i turned it off i had no issues what so ever with frame rate. I rolled back to the previous driver update and that didnt help either. so go into nvidia control panel and turn off ambient occlusion under the program settings tab in manage 3d settings

Ambient Occlusion is already disable by default for Bioshock 2 in the nvidia control :

>> use global setting : disable

If i set the "disable" option, i still have these randoms drop frame :/

I have 60fps with your tweak, thanks

Patch significantly increased performance on my system. AMD card however.

Yeah, I do get that too (see my thread), so good to know I guess that it's not specific to AMD. Performance outside of these is great now, but those are odd as they come out of nowhere and seemingly have nothing to do with what's happening on screen.

Old Radeon 6850:

Before patch, default settings, 1080p: 25-35 fps

After patch, default settings, 1080p: 90-120 fps

I'm not sure what settings actually changed, but the difference is crazy.
