It runs great, except...
I was shocked that this version runs even better than the original BioShock 2 on my PC. Sadly, both remasters randomly stutter at times, for a couple seconds. Anyone else getting this issue? Other than the stuttering and the lack of graphics options, i'm pretty surprised.

Have this as well, 90% of the time its 60fps steady but will at random times for no reason whats going on the screen dips to 30fps range for couple seconds then back up.

Yeah, when entering huge areas it stutters and freezes like crazy. Other than this, its been fine. Hopefully they fix the issues though.

In the Bioshock2SP.ini file there are 2 mouse filter options, pretty much mouse smoothing, turn them to False and no more random stutters... You're welcome :)

Here this is what you want ...

ReduceMouseLag=False
DoubleBufferMouseLag=False

But this is an FPS issue...it randomly drops to 0 FPS at times. This only happens for 1-2 seconds.

Wow, thanks! I tested a couple areas and the performance improved significantly. Hopefully more people know about this! Does this also work with BioShock 1 Remastered?

Every few minutes it will drop frames like crazy for like 5 seconds then be fine. Super weird.

Actually a quick update here the more I play the game the worst the performance is getting. It’s to the point now theres no joy in playing the game, it’s become a constant freezing mess for me. I would normally say I’d have hopes this is will get fixed but the original game never did so yeah… oh well, it was a freebie after all so not too disappointed.

I'll just keep my saves and install the original.

Wow thats odd, how are your CPU and GPU temps when performance is starting to take a dump ? it could be throttling from temps possibly ? If you havent cleaned your PC out in a while a good cleaning might be needed..

Other things to try.

Power mode set to max performance in Nvidia control panel if on AMD they should have an equlivant setting, do this in windows power options as well. Adaptive and optimal power modes with my testing seem's to have very inconsistant performance

Run DDU- Display driver uninstaller and reinstall video drivers - Works for Nvidia and AMD and removes everything driver related, on the Nvidia note the newest driver has caused FPS drops in a bunch of gamess, I went back to 368.81 on my EVGA 970 SSC and it works great.

If the game is installed on a HDD have you defragged it recently ? if not run the defrag, thie game is newely installed and could of just exposed some drive clutter and inconsistant performance..

Try to verify your game files through steam, this can help also.

Hopefully something here helps, good luck !!
