Why did I get the bad ending??
I saved a lot of little sisters, everyone I found!
I ONLY killed Gil because it felt like the good thing to do!
In the end I saved myself because the game literally did NOT let me sacrifice, the keybind must have been broken.
Still, can someone explain what just happened??? Did killing Gil ALONE trigger the bad ending??

yep if you got the choice to decide, but button stuck or not, then she does what she does and the the corpses floated up and the skies are dark, that's the middle-of-the-road... if you go decisively good or decisively evil, there's no decision point, starting from persephone she'll start talking to you about she knows what to do from what you taught her, blah blah blah... there's only a few lines of dialogue that differ, anyway. The endings you can just watch online if you don't want to replay just for that.

Infinite is another experience altogether, I highly suggest going back and doing minerva's first before moving on, I don't know if you'll like or hate one or the other afterwards, but people seem to have strong opinions on this.

I like all 3 and the DLCs, but that's me. :-)

You must save ALL the little sisters. Everyone of them. Also let everyone live.

Damn, in the first game I got the good ending and didn't even save a lot of Little Sisters. I saved so many in this game, way more than the first! Kinda sucks you have to get every single one of them.

STILL, I don't get why I got the WORST ending...? I though getting the worst meant to harvest the girls and kiling everyone. I saved every sister I found and only killed Gil. That's diappointing...

No sir. You can kill Gil Alexander and still get the good ending, as it's the "right" not "wrong" decision, it actually helps against other bad deeds. Always hit Esc and look at the "sister circles" to see if they'e with a big daddy or rescued; and just like the first game I think you can harvest 1, but no more, and no NPCs deaths besides Gil (spoiler: and that other one you can't avoid / have no choice about, towards the end of Persephone.)

I understand, but I still don't know why I got the WORST ending, that's all I wanna know. I saved every sister I found. I just don't get it. Elanor saved her mother even, and then just turns evil in the cutscene? Is there any chance my game got bugged? I don't see how I got the worst ending. Neutral, yeah I get it, but worst?

That's the neutral_1 ending, the darkest/saddest. As far as we'll be able to tell, the game thinks you harvested at least 1... there's 12 you can rescue or harvest, and 3 you must deal with. If you only do those 3 and just ignore the rest, same rules apply, if you rescue them and kill no NPCs but Gil, you get good_1 automatically. Harvest 1 you'll get neutral_1 and have to decide if you live/die, and 2+ harvested you get bad_1/_2 depending on how you treated the NPCs.

You sure you didn't ice more than Gil? If it gave you the opportunity to live/die, you did some morally ambiguous decision.

I don't know if this matters, just personal curiosity - did you harvest ADAM twice from angels before sending each down the vent, each time you killed her Big Daddy and picked one up? No wiki page documents if this matters or not, you may have discovered something new!

I wanted to kill Stanley Poole at first because he was scum, but seeing him beg me made me realize he didn't really deserve to die. I also didn't kill Grace. I only killed Gil because it felt like the right thing to do.

Since I didn't really save many sisters in the first game I made sure to save as many as I could. There is only ONE I remember not saving because I didn't have the necessary means to kill her Big Daddy.

Yeah I harvested some ADAM with the little sisters but I did it rarely, usually the Big Daddies were close to vents so I just rescued them right away.

So that was the neutral ending? It seemed pretty bad to me, Elanor turned evil and the corpses from everyone including little sisters were floating in the water, I wanted to sacrifice myself but the game literally did not let me, I pressed the button a few times and nothing happened, so I just saved myself. I'll probably play the game again to see if I can spot what I did wrong but for now I'm just starting BioShock Infinite.

Yeah I've heard some amazing things from Minerva's Den. Even read about some people who thought it was better than the actual first game! Will definitely play it but I usually like to play the base games first if it's a series, and then move on to each game's DLC, bit weird I know.
Thanks for clearing it for me! I was so confused because I thought it was the worst ending and I could not place my finger on what I had done wrong!

Actually saving Gil can be seen as good and I actually see it as positive. The "sane" Gil has preconceptions on who he will become based on its own preconceptions which are the "human" ones. But the "monster" Gil is still a being and actually might be seen as another person. Sane "Gil" actually do not know how he will really feel afterwards ; the "new" Gil wants to live.

Yeah I thought about that too. But to me, what mattered was what sane Gil wanted. One can argue that since the new Gil wasn't sane anymore, his thoughts didnt matter as much, he wanted to live yes, but in doing so, he'd go against what he himself felt before. It's like becoming a zombie, neither of us want to become one, but we have no idea what it will feel like if we actually became one. I don't think that matters though. Me, right now, the sane me does not want it. It's not a good fate, doesn't matter if you end up liking it or not. I thought killing him was the right thing to do.

You simply can't harvest any of the little sisters, it's either you harvest them all, or don't harvest them none and in the long run, have even more ADAM, thanks to presents which they give you after some time. As for characters, you need to spare them all for achievement but apart from that, even Gill\Alex the Great have valid reasons to leave him be.

Minervas Den redeemed the game for me. Some cool levels but also there's a good twist at the end. Not quite as good as Bioshock 1 but still was like aaaaaaw when u get it.

I saved all I could find, I just don't understand why in the first game It wasn't so strict. I saved less in the first game and got the good ending!
Quambas Apr 24, 2020 @ 7:49pm
Killing Gil is a neutral move, the correct choices for good ending are: Save sisters, no sacrifices, Let someone live. You don't get a choice at the end if you did the good ending.
