EDIT: It works for me
BTW, how did you get the previous versions?
...from a system backup taken before the last game patch.
Maybe you can post this thread to them?^^
But I have NVIDIA Titan not AMD but we have still the same problem <.<
Btw thanks OP
I don't want to sound like Tech Support, but make sure to follow the directions in the Read Me file. I say this because I had made a mistake when I was testing this out on both my systems (trying to simplify the process, finding the least amount of files needed) and I had mixed up the file versions at least once, and I was like, "This was working a second ago!!! WTF?!?!" If it doesn't work for you, then I don't know what to say except this process essentially reverts the game's exe to the previous version and allows it to run. I woudn't think the type of GPU would make a difference here, and it is possible that in this configuration the old save files won't run. I wouldn't know since I didn't have a old save files to check with. Try re-verifing the game cache to set the files back to the latest version, then retry this method using the provided directions, then first try starting a new game after backing up your save files. If it doesn't work, please let us know.
And both had the Date 16.09. I started the game 2 times and each time when in wanted to continue crash. So I put in again the original files.
If you don't made more than only change the Bioshock2.exe and Engine.U than it seems I have rly bad luck.
Oh and @Mandelbrot Ich hab nicht sonderlich große Lust das Spiel nochmal von neuem zu beginnen....
Maybe if you use NVIDIA you need one more File to replace. Or it is something complete different....
I had hope but now again it's crashed again....
I am sorry I have to ask this, because I know how incredibly frustrating it is when people keep asking the same questions, but I just what to understand you clearly: after attempting this method, did you try to start a NEW game? If so, does it still crash after "Pressing Space"?
I know you aren't keen on starting the game over from the beginning again, and your goal, along with just about everyone, is to have the game working normally and for us to be able to use the saved game files.
1) to get past your particular flavor of this problem, you may need the entire game release for the previous version before this freaking patch, which, unfortunately, I cannot help anyone with.
2) There may be an additional file or additional files needed for Nvidia GPUs using this method, which is a complete guess on my part, that are not being installed on my system since I have ATI Radeon. If I had an Nvidia GPU to throw in my system, I would test this out in a heartbeat. I do not know of a quick and easy method for us to compare the files on your system versus mine. If you can think of something, I am ready to listen.
and from all my saves there are some older ones wich I can load too. But the newer SAVES wich I want to continue have the press space to crash bug.
50% of my Saves have the Bug. After a certain Point all my Saves have this problem....
And what I can add is that all my Saves are in Siren ALLY
And if there is no fix it seems I will not can pass this level-part.
