Bioshock 1 Remastered is very different from the original, for starters it is the main star of the Bioshock Collection.
What it offers is:
- Better textures
- Better UI
- Better FPS on physx
- Better Mouse movement
- Offers New Game+ that was present only in the Xbox 360 and PS 3 only.
- Museum of Orphaned Art (Basically cut content and some artworks)
- Developer films (These are placed in every level, so you need to find them first before you can watch them. There is 1 per level)
- Has an extra hard mode called 1999 like the one from Bioshock Infinite
- Has challenge levels from the Xbox and PS 3

I also have to mention there is a problem with some textures, you will need to tweak the INI so that you can get maximum satisfaction.

Bioshock 2 Remastered however is kinda the same, there is little texture changes and sadly there is no New Game + in that one. Kinda sad really since Bioshock 2 has like over 8 or 7 endings. There are also some broken achievements. And some crashes in the level Fontaine Futuristics.
A word of advise if playing Bioshock 2 Remasteres save offten.
Another world of advise Would you kindly play Bioshock 2 the original ? That one is more stable and the achivements work.

Are you serious man?? Bioshock one has one of the best level designs and color paletes. you seriously need new eyes or may be you have yet to open your eyes.

The graphics are a bit better but not a huge jump but yes the graphics are improved

i have played bioshock infinate and liked it and bioshock one and two look interesting. What one did you guys like better

Quite frankly, Bioshock 1 & 2 have always been regarded as really great games. Saying that you can't play it because of the graphics is to them like complaining that you can't listen to Mozarts music because their instruments are outdated. Basically an insult, and it feels like you are spitting on good, classic games.

That said, you are correct. Steam community is cancerous. Do not expect anything more or less here.

It's really only the textures that have been upscaled; the laughably low polygon counts haven't changed at all. Though they did also add parallax mapping (so things like tiled floors look properly 3D from an angle). They should have ported the whole thing to a new engine and rebuilt everything from scratch, but I guess they were more concerned with making it a free upgrade for anyone who owned the originals and couldn't justify that kind of expense that way.

Oh, but it is a new port of the engine, so you won't have it using 100% of your CPU like the old version did. And it won't crash after one minute for people who have Catalyst Control Center. Seriously, BioShock 2 was one of the worst PC ports ever.
