Without going into further detail, the most of the developers behind Bioshock have not been involved with the franchise for quite some time and considering both existential and external factors we were lucky to receive the remastered versions at all. If there's even a possibility of a remake in the future, it's not going to happen any time soon.

It's been a few years since 2K Games (the publisher) announced Bioshock 4 was in development using a new 2K division, called Cloud Chamber. There are only a few developers from the original team. And they're still hiring.
