Rapture Central Control Vent

Hi,

I've just reached the rapture central control vent to enter Ryan's room but the vent won't open, i've tried hitting it, shooting it ect and it won't work, any idea's as i don't want to give up on the game at this stage?

Perhaps you need to do something first before you can go in. Try opening the map and look at the quest to see if it can give you a clue.
