There were three patches for both Bioshock remastered 1 and 2 that resolved confirmed bugs and improved game stability, although that does not apply to every computer. It is unfortunately impossible to create a game that won't crash on even a single computer. Though developers do the best to make their game compatible with majority of systems. Then of course a computer also has to fulfill their system requirements in order to play the game.
If there is a problem, especially a systematic one, that interferes with a computer from running the game, then it does not go away on its own. There are many reasons why games can keep crashing, such as; outdated drivers, incompatible software, file corruption of the operating system, corrupt system files, corrupt save files and configurations, insufficient system resources, if the temp directory has too many files, if you have too many programs running in the background, if you're using an old operating system, if your computer doesn't meet the minimum system requirements, even malware, excessive built up of dust and overheating.
Crashes occurring more frequently the longer you play it sounds like a overheating problem. If a game is too taxing on the system and there are not enough fans to cool it down, then yeah the game will crash, frequently.
Personally I never experienced crashing issues with neither remake and many could tell you the same.
Yeah, if you had to do a dx9 launch option then you should likely be safe now. You're welcome.
played more than 4 hours in a row.
Great to hear, happy gaming.
Just installed it and crashed before I even set foot in Rapture.
Now i want to start up the challenges, but the main menu keeps crashing during the "loading" of the 2K online thingie, can't access main menu. Validating game files did not help.
Edit: Accepting to reset the game options to default in that text box at startup helped me to get back into the menu.
