Grenade Launcher not coming out of the conveyor belt

At Fountaine Fisheries, you talk to Peach Wilkins for the first time and fight the spider splicer. Afterwards, he's supposed to give you the grenade launcher and ask you to find the research camera. In this play-through, however, the conveyor belt moves and makes noise, but no grenade launcher ever appears. I tried switching the game from my D drive to my C drive, I tried quitting and reopening, replaying from the beginning, verifying the files, I even tried not picking anything up in the room in case that has something to do with it... Nothing has worked. I've also had some weird issues of some text showing up as squares, but quitting and reloading seems to fix that. This is on my new computer that has never played this game before, but it worked fine on my old computer (this comp uses Windows 11 while my last one used 10). About to just purge all my saves just to see if that fixes it.

Any advice?

If I recall, I think you have to take pictures of the spider slicer first, and then you get the grenade launcher?

My memory is a bit fuzzy on that part tho

It’s literally right after you get the camera

This is wrong. I can still try it, but he gives you the grenade launcher after the splicer battle with the line "Look on the conveyor belt and you'll find something to keep you alive." I can see the conveyor belt moving, the gate raises, and makes noise but nothing comes out and the conveyor stops yet continues to make noise. I tried reloading the level by going back to medical before and after he sends it down the conveyor belt and neither option worked. I think the game is bugged or some error with something I've done.

I don't know about this bug or have an idea how to fix it, I just wanted to say that you can just continue playing without it. There are some opportunities later in the game where you can also pick it up (it's just lying around on the ground). So if you can't solve that problem here, maybe just go on :)

Problem is I'm recording a video, and I need a clip of getting it for what I'm doing. I suppose I could just snag one off the internet, but its weird that this is even happening.

Interesting development! I decided to buy the GOG version and see if it would work. It appears the version on GOG has not updated to go through 2k's new launcher, but the Rocket Launcher come out of the conveyor just fine on the save I was using through steam, which to me indicates that the latest update broke this. If you are experiencing any strange issues, I would recommend the GOG version.

Thanks to 2k and Blind Squirrel Games for this... truly "amazing" product that was totally not kicked out the door and updated with scotch tape and dreams.
