Got all acheivements on Survivor no vita chambers with crashes

Just wanted to let people know that even if your difficulty resets, you can get all the acheivements as long as you set it back to Survivor as soon as you start the game back up. I've had four crashes throughout the run, only when I was saving over an old save (which deleted it, so make new saves every time). I also spawned in Vita Chambers in the beginning and then reloaded the old save and I still got that acheivement as well. I usually look for these kinds of questions before I start a Survivor run so hopefully I can help someone out. I never touched the settings outside of the in-game ones also.

Confirmed, and the tracking is actually even more gentle than that. Cleared about half of Point Prometheus post-crash before realizing that all settings including difficulty had reverted to defaults. Restored the settings and still received all difficulty related achievements upon completion.

Actually, you can start the game at on survivor, change it asap to easy difficutly and change it back to survivor once you reach the end boss.
I completed the whole game on easy (to get most of the achievements) and just had to reload the last save, change my difficutly to survivor and kill the boss. I actually got the achievement for beating it on survivor difficulty.

If you delete the running.ini after a crash. You don't have to worry about game settings getting changed.

Oh snap, thanks a lot for the info! Those are both things I'd been wondering about as well. So re-loading previous saves every time you die can still yield the achievement 'I Chose the Impossible'?

You can get achievements "Man Chooses" and "I choose the imposible" if you just change it in settings before final boss. He is very easy to beat him even on Survivor difficulty, especially if you are good in shooters. I start game on Survivor difficulty, but for some reason I chanhed it on Hard. In my playhrough difficulty dropped to Medium sometimes and I had respawns in Vita chamber's too.
So dont worry about this achievements. Change settings before last battle and dont care. Gl Hf man!)

So just tried this like you said to get the achievemens brass balls and i chose the impossible loaded up my save in proving grounds right at the elevator to fontaine changed my options went up the elevator killed fontaine none of the achivements popped so that don't work.

I suppose you doing something wrong. Mb you shuold check file "Bioshock.ini" in C\User\AppData\Roamig\BioshockHD\Bioshock. Find "GameDifficulty=GD_HARD" and "NoVitaChamber=True". If thats settings isnt "HARD" or "SURVIVOR" and "False" set it on what you need and mark it "Read only" in Bioshock.ini settings. After that try to beat boss again and set needed settings in game itself. I suppose it shuold work, cause I had take this achievements as I wrote.

And yea no vita chambers is on true, did you actually try this and get the achivements or are you just saying this cause you could do that in the original?

What so you have to start on survivor? and then you can change to medium or whatever and then at last level change back to survivor?
