[FIX] Bioshock Remastered Resolution Reset !

Hi guys, after trying and trying to fix this problem and reading others fixes and solutions I had an idea, and it worked awesome.

What I did was, go to startup %appdata% , then go to BioshockHD folder, once u are there u have to go to steam and start the game, go to settings and configure everything the way u want. Then without closing the game, go the the folder u just opened and open user.ini and bioshock.ini with notepad, look for the lines:



WindowedViewportX=1440
WindowedViewportY=900
FullscreenViewportX=1440
FullscreenViewportY=900
StartupFullscreen=True ( remember tu put this on true)

( this are the resolutions I use, so u might have them set differently depends on what u set before minimize the game,if not, set both with ur desired resolutions. Im not sure if there is any resolutions that doesn't work)

Now go to both ini files and go file>save Then close them and go to right click - properties and set them to "read only" and accept.

Close the game and open it again and check if it worked

So, I rolled into this thread because the game keeps starting in windowed mode and then, even though I turned off the full screen optimization, the gamma slider doesn't work. I figure if I fix the windowed mode thing, maybe that's the hold-up with the gamma slider.

Then I see Lister of Smegma over here being a bit of a jerk about the guides and Macula being an ageist jerk while linking an image of a particular guide title. I decided to look at the guide section to see if there is some better info than what 123 is providing. I didn't see the guide "[Fixed Bioshock Remastered Resolution Reset!]" at all. Of the 25 English language configuration guides, not single one says anything about what 123 is talking about, and especially not the tidbit about making the ini files read only.

Guess what, my game doesn't start in Windowed mode now, thanks completely to me finding 123's trick of read-only ini files via a google search. Macula and Smeglord can kick rocks, and if this wasn't a steam forum, they could do some other things too.

Unfortunately, screen brightness doesn't work still, but that appears to be beyond the reach of ini files.

Absolutely! I'm not digging through hundreds of irrelevant guides on steam when 20 seconds on google brings me to this thread.
