Dissapearing Saves?
Hey guys, my game crashed a minute ago. I thought no biggie Ill relaunch and keep going....

For some reason 2 hours or more of saves are gone 0_0. I was saving frequently too, and I have achievments from the second part of the game but not the save files? Any ideas? I really dont want to replay everything just to crash again and lose my saves again.

Thanks in advance.

Nope no ideas its one of reasons why I haven't even started playing remastered.

I have seen alot of threads reporting losing saves after crashing.

Only suggestions I heard of is to backup saves but... no better solution sorry.

I lost at least two manual saves after one crash, thankfully the next one was pretty close, and I restarted right after. I read somewhere if you go into your save games folder and remove the recovery file or such that will avoid the losing the files. I'll try that next time.

Currently have cloud saves turned off.
I had this happen to me as well at about the same time, my manual saves are gone but the autosave is fine. Looks like i'm replaying the level.

Saving the game over another save is what is crashing and deleting saves for me. DONT SAVE OVER STUFF, quick save and new save. At leaset this is the problem for me at the moment seems to run fine if I dont try to overwrite any saves.

Interesting, I've been manually saving overwriting my previous saves and haven't had a problem until now, I'll try it without overwriting and see if it happens again.

I hope it works for you, at least until they fix the bugs. Playing the same level over and over is annoying.

Yeah it is a bit annoying, this is the first time I've experienced any kind of bug in all the BioShocks on PC so I really feel sorry for those who are experiencing things like this often. I hope they fix these at some point.

Yeah this is my first time playing them on PC, played them all on console before I put a PC together. I was expecting smooth sailing on the PC remaster I hope it gets resolved soon or that we dont have more issues xD.

This is my first time ever and already lost all my save files (except auto) :/
I think l should play the original instead because there are too many issues with this "remaster"

Just had this happen to me. Very annoying. The original never did this.

I have played three times, firts lost all my saves, second time was all rigth, and my third time only the autosaves are alive. And I had several crashes.

I'll wait for an update/patch. :steamsad:

I only lose a save file when I crash during saving. My game so far has 5 save files and I overwrite the oldest one everytime.

Lose the savegames right now again also, but not all. Only the files which are younger than 2 hours. Playing BS1re more than 4 hours isn´t possible because it will crash.
Really strange is that i changed the audio-settings and game told me, i have to restart for changes. :horseshead: Normally changing the audiovolume doesn´t require a restart in this or other games.
However, sometimes changed settings won´t be changed after closing the options and sometimes it will be saved. Very annoying ! :serioussam:

I just lost my saves as well, this is such crap I was a good ways in and I was really enjoying the remaster up to that point, friggen figures they somehow screw up something important like SAVING THE GAME grrrrr... this is the worst generation of games I swear no developers give a ♥♥♥♥ about anything anymore...

Be careful with saving, only advice I can conclude on is save often and create new saves. It seems saving over things will crash and erase saves sometimes.
