Can't hack bot in Med Pav

Hi,
I just realized that Bioshock had some really big setting issues on PC with the keyboard.
Because I can't access the config menu in the settings (tried every key) I can't check what's the correct key to start hacking.. because it wont work.
Discovered the 1st bot to hack.. pressed V.. and then: nothing.
No key is working, right click = exit and then the game just crashed.
Also the needle isn't moving which it should.

Any help for me?

Update!

After crashing, "everything" was reset and I noticed that I now have the correct options shown in game (e.g. V for HACKING).. very weird.
When I try to change any settings while gaming, everything is set to "XBOX mode" as I call it, because now I only get "Press X for ...".
Now hacking works, but it was horrible lagging with my mouse, googled 5sec and edited some values in the INI files as well as deleted the 2k videos (not skippable) from the BinkMovie dir... now I will restart the game and finally enjoy it :)

I had the same issue, I had unbound the "hack" key and thought I wasn't able to hack at all: http://i.imgur.com/vA8klbV.png

Sign will be replaced with a key.
