You sir.. are blind.
Watch the whole video, if u still cannot see it u need to go to a ophthalmologist.
Seconded. Been playing the remaster and until i saw this comparison there is a TON I just assumed was already in the original. They certainly upped the texture resolution and the scenery detail. Added a ton of underwater life that was apparently abesent from the original. Still seems to suffer MINOR texture pop in still. No where near as bad as thew original with textures being totally blank for minutes on end. Clearly a core issue with Unreal and not something reall the fault of the original devs or the remaster crew. Not unless they really overhauled it with an entirely different engine. But then thats a remake not a remaster at that point. I can easily look over that issue. Going to love playing through all 3 games again with the first two being totally free basically. I'll never complain about a free update.
And did anybody here watch the video long enough to see the Bioshock 2 "Remastered" section?!? There's nothing to argue there - it simply is not remastered as it is the EXACT same game. Nothing in that video has been touched in the slightest.
But they remastered the ♥♥♥♥ out of the first 7 minutes of Bioshock 1! Who cares about the rest of the game? We all know were only ever going to play the intro then uninstall because its still a buggy POS.
I can clearly see tjhe difference between the two from your video.
Most problems can be solved if you cared to look for the fixes. I will continue to enjoy my lag free, stutter free, mouse lag free game
I agree with you Lister of Smeg, no problems here either, it looks better too, the only small problem I'd say would be the boxes when hacking aren't as 'definate' so to speak, apart from that tiny irritation which I'm sure I'll get used to I'm really enjoying going back to Rapture
Look again. Textures and even lighting in some areas got a very distinct touch up.
Yeah more blurry and less detailed.
Bioshock 2 actually does a few things worse than the original.
The Drill for example does not have the finer rough edges or the highlights of those edges. LOD also appears to be an issue as seen in the footage at the pool. Certain textures actually appear lower quality, which is curious.
B1 is odd since there are many things that are improved but then the remaster is hampered by other issues. For example stepping through falling water the volume that causes the on screen water effect in various instances has been altered or screwed up.
When missing the altered volume the effect does not occur. Such as shortly after seeing the first Big Daddy in the theater, outside that area descending the stairs there are some splicers by a fallen BD and the falling water has the wrong volume size.
Back to the LOD stuff I think that may have been baked in from the consoles and was not adjusted for the PC.
Overall I would say B1 is in a positive upgrade, despite various issues; whereas B2 seems to have some strange downgrades, apart from being a lateral remaster.
