Tutorial for removing the 2K launcher
Hi guys.

I know, many of you LOVE the new 2K launcher...its just a realy great QOL improvement and a good way to share all your data with companies all over the world. Who needs privacy anyways, right?

But for those of you little trolls who would like to remove it because you dont want to make 2K more bucks with your private data...here is a realy nice and short tutorial for that. Thank you "Mafia Modding".

This seems to be an very old issue: https://steamcommunity.com/app/409710/discussions/0/350542145691503041/

You have to run the .exe in administrator mode...hope that helps.

Thanks for trying, I'm on Linux. This update straight-up broke compatibility it seems, even the launcher doesn't launch.

Uff...well Linux is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ I guess...but there are a lot of smart people out there who will figure something out. The Steam Deck community is very active and they will develop a solution.

F*ck 2K

Found a way of bypassing the launcher in Linux (may work with windows) that was to delete the contents of the 2KLauncher directory, then, inside that folder create a symbolic link to the BioshockHD executable. Then Rename that link to "LauncherPatcher.exe"

Thanks to u/MrPootisBrights on Reddit

EDIT: Added important final step, Remove embed code, credit the OP on reddit

copy the "BioshockHD.exe" from the final directory to the 2k directory and delete "LauncherPatcher.exe" then rename bioshocks exe to "LauncherPatcher.exe". works for bioshock 2 as well

Thanks for the fix. Worked perfectly for me by adding -run before the %command% argument. So for example:

"D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BioShock Remastered\Build\Final\BioshockHD.exe" -run %command%
