Epic Games Launcher wont launch this game?

it doesnt even say running just nothing

There is less info in your question, like what windows you're using? Try compatibility troubleshooting.
And asking this on reddit (Epic Games or BioShock subreddit) is better than here, since its a different launcher that's less likely you'll find people here using it for this game if they have it on steam.

its the free game for this week and as EGS has no forums id assume other players who grabbed it and wanted to play it also have same issue

im trying to reinstall the game now as making a new shortcut and verifying the files didnt work

i tried reddit and i got no response

i have windows 10

epic doesnt have a forum

You'll have to let the 2k launcher load a browser window that allows 2K to connect to your epic games account. It took me a couple tries to get it to work.

After you get the permission window and accept, nothing happens for some people.

I did that and it still won't run.

The splash screen flashes up and disappears leaving behind this error message... "The procedure entry point PowerDeterminePlaformRoleEx could not be located in the dynamic link library POWRPROF.dll

Yeah. I guess once someone can solve that one, then it will actually work.

I sent a support ticket earlier today. So if enough people start asking, someone is bound to get a solution.

I did the following to get the browser permission window:
($GAME_PATH)= where you installed the game

Inside ($GAME_PATH)\Epic Games\BioshockRemastered\2KLauncher there is a zip file t2gp_launcher-f24a1bc.zip, extract the contents on the 2KLauncher folder and then run LauncherPatcher.exe this will open 2k Launcher and won't show any game at all.

Then try launching the game from the Epic Launcher and will open a new 2klauncher window named t2gp_launcher-f24a1bc and that'll also open the browser window asking for authorizing the 2klauncher with your Epic Account.

I know this isn't the forum for Epic Launcher issues but since someone else created the post I'll take it.

Just a note: but i found out that Bioshock 2 works fine on Epic.

So if nothing happens when you click the Bioshock 1 shortcut like with me, then its clearly a problem with Bioshock 1.

go to whichever drive you have it installed on from File Explorer and youll find a folder on the first page that says Bioshock Remastered, just open it then open the 2k launcher folder and such
