So...is this game fixed now?
Put off buying the Remaster because of the horror stories. Is this and BioShock 2 actually playable now?

Has worked almost fine for me, the only issue is game stuttering a bit like every 3 minutes. It makes the game unplayable after a while.

Not really, I'm still getting random black screens at startup.

It depends on the person. I know of some people who are still getting frequent crashes and others like myself who haven't got a single crash. (knock on wood)

If you had crashes a few years ago, they haven't been fixed. If you haven't had any crashes yet, the game hasn't been broken any more.

Had to try it again, have new HW, now it works perfectly, no issues.

It is just this game freaks me like no other. Could call it stressful game lol.

Only just bought this game and I'm getting constant crashes particularly when trying to save. is this the problem everyone is speaking about?

also does this affect the original Bioshock since if its exclusive I can just delete this and download the other as I bought both.

Thanks

It doesnt't affect the original luckily. If you have it and are experiencing crashes with the remaster, play the original instead! The only downside is it doesn't have achievements and looks a little worse, but it's worth it if you can barely play the remaster. lol

Is the remaster available on GOG? And is it buggy there? Or am I doomed to having to play the old version?

The old version isn't actually that bad, in fact it's better bug-wise. The only real difference is a slight graphical improvement but it's not very noticeable. Play the original, it'll save you a headache. You can still buy in on Steam by finding a link, but I'm currently on mobile and cannot provide one.

i know you probably wont read this but bioshock is one of my favorite games and when i switched to pc i waited till a sale to buy the bundle. 11.99 for all 3 winter sale, dope ive it came with bioshock 1 2 infinite and the remasters. ive played through bioshock 1 and i got lag and frame drops. the worst part was that i lost about 2 hours of playing(collectively put together) cause id alt tab in a loading screen or put some input and get a black screen so save every 20 mins. and 2 same thing just A LOT less often havent made it through 2 yet though
gl buddy its a quality story and fun idk im still doing it
