That would mean you're at least at Neptune's Bounty, you get the grenade launcher and research camera there as you do the main objectives, use both, possibly research Rosies until you get a damage boost to help you (also remember you can research the little sisters, they give you health and eve upgrades).

Rosies in particular will shred you if you stay out in the open, so what you're going to do is stay mid to close range so you can hit them (they will be able to shoot you from any range, so stay at a range you can shoot them back) and use a lot of cover try to peek in and out and get your shots off, and if he throws grenades that make your cover dangerous move to a different area. Remember to heal often, the Rosie will drop a bit of cash so you can buy more first aid afterwards, so don't be afraid to use them.

Kiting will be very important, like with the Bouncer, have an idea which corridors you will run through that will give you cover and an opportunity to shoot back, another good idea is to hack some turrets and lead the Rosie through them, the two turrets near the beginning of the level that are on opposite ends of the room, for example, should provide good damage or a good distraction for you to get some free shots in if they try to destroy them instead. Another good source of damage will be red barrels and tanks, hurl those at him with telekinesis if given an opportunity (I believe they can shoot them while you're suspending them, so be careful).

One of the best methods to kill them would be the RPG turrets, a strategy I would use is to lead one in clear view of the turret, and just keep shocking him after every RPG hits him, your stun should keep him in place while the RPGs do the rest, just rinse and repeat after each hit and he should go down. This method worked for me while I'm doing my survivalist difficulty run, so it should work for you on hard.

Extensive use of electrocution plasmid helps a lot.

Hm, wow, have you used Adam to increase your health stats? I've only played on normal difficulty, it can't be that much a difference...

Kiting and running around corners and cover is your friend, (assuming you're fighting the bouncer in the medical pavilion), I typically use the electric buck you can scrounge throughout the level and save it for him, it keeps him stunned while also doing decent damage, when you run out (because you will) start using Electro-Bolt to stun him and get breathing room when you suspect he is going to charge you or is getting too close. Using your Tommy while backpedaling is a valid choice to get whatever damage you can in if you're having trouble aiming the shotgun if the misses are too punishing for you.

Remember to use Electro-Bolt strictly as a stun, if you damage him while he is stunned it will take him out of his stun and he will return to promptly beating your ass, so use it to make distance, reload or heal, or get a well placed shotgun blast. Make sure to keep a good backlog of First Aid for when he eventually hits you, and watch your health and heal often.

Hard difficulty requires you to prepare, have a plan for an area you will kite him through, and use any high damage item at your disposal you've hopefully been saving to take him down, Big Daddies do not get easier up until you begin researching.

Hopefully this helps.

Shotgun with electric buckshots and decoy plasmid when reloading.

If there are any Splicers around the Big Daddy you're trying to fight, what I usually do is:

get the splicers to start shooting at me, then hide behind the Big Daddy so he'll get pissed and start attacking them. It's just my way of getting the Big Daddy's health down a bit before I start fighting him myself.

Hope that helps somewhat! But I do agree with the others here that said using electric bucks and electricity plasmid so you can reload safely is also a good tip! If you pick up the electric skin plasmid (I forget the official name but it shoots out electricity when you get attacked with a melee), that also helps big time if the Big Daddy tries to whack you with his drill.

And if you're fighting a Rosie, I always have the Telekinesis plasmid to throw his grenades back at him. Saves yourself a lot of ammo.

electric buckshot, shoot and hide

Increasing your odds of victory:
Hack any and all turrets nearby. Lure Big Dady into turrets. Use Electro Bolt+Explosive Buck to damage Big Daddy. When Eve runs out, use electro buck and Armor Piercing bullets (Machine Gun) to do more damage. If all else fails, Decoy perhaps to buy time?

If at Neptunes Bounty, note a cluster of explosive barrels. You can set them all off at once near a Big Daddy by throwing one barrel via Telekinesis plasmid. Book it out and seek cover.

Avoid Big Daddy's with Rivet Guns since they can damage you from far away. Pursue Big Daddys with drills (they are slower and dodging attacks are more possible).

Another neat tactic when fighting multiple Big Daddy's: Allow a Big Daddy with Rivet Gun to unintentionally shoot another Big Daddy (stand behind the target). This initiates a battle between both Big Daddy's (only if the other Big Daddy is not aggro towards player).

You may also set a Big Daddy on fire and cower away in a corner as its health depletes.

Plant as many of those helium tanks/barrels/proximity mines or whatever as you can find to lay it on him at one time as the fight starts.

Simply use your brain and kill him

Once I've obtained the "hyptonize" plasmid, I would get a "rosie" (a loner Big Daddy) to tag along with me. Then when I see Big Daddy walking by with the little sister, I'd shoot it from a far distance and let rosie take care of it for me (for the most part). In many cases, it will bring it down to about 20% health if not completely destroy BD. From there, if I need to finish the job, usually 2 or 3 grenades, or some flame thrower punishment will do the job. ;)

I'm new here. Do you NEED to kill all big daddys or can you let some of them go?

If there is Little Sister near Big Daddy, you'd better kill him and deal with Little Sister. You can check how many Little Sisters are on the level in the menu (just press ESC while playing). Don't bother yourself with killing lone Big Daddies - just research them and move on.
