BioShock Remastered

BioShock Remastered

View Stats:
Remastered Version has removed all ambient Sounds....
from PA systems too many other audio that makes the original edition unique, and incredible.

The dev of this remastered version only made a texture HD mod, and killed off the spirit, and soul what makes this game fantastic.

My suggestion too you people you is play the original, you will not regret it, and then after playing the original, play the remastered, and you will see how bad it is.

I play like 14 hrs in the remastered version, I like it but now with the bugs and crashes cannot play the stupid game, my saves of the remastered work in the original one?

I didn't notice any differences in the PA system or audio, could you point those out?
Giovanos Dec 13, 2016 @ 4:43pm
It's probably a bug you are experiencing to be honest, I could hear the PA system just fine

The ambient sounds are rare. The overall sound disribution is way off. I don't know how many times I wouldn't hear any of the wacked out circus sounds coming from machines, no PA system sounds whatever.

You have to play the original to notice the differences, and believe me the remixed version is void of any character.

It's bad not to mention how the water affects are a hit & miss, and having the water pour over your head as you walk through do next to nothing to obsure your eyesight which is also a hit & miss...

The list is long where the remastered version just fails.

It is rare games with so much attention to sound design ...
For now it does not work well, but I hope it will work out.

I have all the ambient sounds that you are reporting as missing. Vendor circus sounds, pa system etc.

At first try all radio messages was muffled, but after this fix that cleared up for me, and the game sounds great now.

Thanks, I'll check it out. :)

-- edit --

I have made the changes, and the sound appears to be clearer, more crisp but I am not getting that wacky doodle (only way I can explain it) feeling I get which the original gives me.

In the original I get not only the uptight feeling something is always around me, but the audio is so crisp, and so full of the crazy nonsense that has me feeling like I am living through an episode of the best twilight zone episode ever made.

I'll have to play it some more before I can tell if this audio fix is working or not.

Cheers, and thanks again for the tip.

Well there are also benefits to the remaster. Textures and Geometry do look better in many places. AA is better. The original was jaggy as hell.

The specular lighting should have been replaced with higher quality instead of just doing away with it IMO. I like a lot of what they did texture wise.

I mean i got this for free. I can't really whine, but yes they could have done so much more.

The only main pile of money was from console players that had never played it before. We pretty much knew this was going to be like Batman AA. I didn't turn out quite that bad but is very frustrating in that this could have been so good.

What do you mean the geometry is better?

Higher res models, these days even a low-end card should handle it just fine, I agree the lighting could be improved a bit, beef it up even more, modern PC graphics cards can do it.

what sound setup (2.1, 5.1,etc.) are you usng, is windows setup to match all the speakers you are using? has the game sound configuration ben setup to match you configuration? (stereo, 5.1, 7.2, etc) if even one of those settings is off, you will get some missing sounds becuase the sound is piped out wrong. I.E. if you have a stereo speaker setup, and one of the settings is for surround, some of the sounds will be piped to a nonexistant speaker, resultung in missing sound. I have a Recon3D Omega Wireless and can do full 5.1/7.1 surround, so i have both the game and windows speaker setup to reflect that, as well as the sound cards surround settings in the creative recon3d control panel. as a result, I get full surround sound, and no missing sounds

well it's not about that. play the original, this is merely for looks. it's not a remake, its a remaster. just aesthetics. calm down, you still have the old game, right? jesus... this was FREE.....

No, I'm tired of hearing that crap. You can criticize this just as much as you want. They sell it on the store too.
