No idea.
The ambient sounds are rare. The overall sound disribution is way off. I don't know how many times I wouldn't hear any of the wacked out circus sounds coming from machines, no PA system sounds whatever.
You have to play the original to notice the differences, and believe me the remixed version is void of any character.
It's bad not to mention how the water affects are a hit & miss, and having the water pour over your head as you walk through do next to nothing to obsure your eyesight which is also a hit & miss...
The list is long where the remastered version just fails.
For now it does not work well, but I hope it will work out.
At first try all radio messages was muffled, but after this fix that cleared up for me, and the game sounds great now.

Thanks, I'll check it out. :)
-- edit --
I have made the changes, and the sound appears to be clearer, more crisp but I am not getting that wacky doodle (only way I can explain it) feeling I get which the original gives me.
In the original I get not only the uptight feeling something is always around me, but the audio is so crisp, and so full of the crazy nonsense that has me feeling like I am living through an episode of the best twilight zone episode ever made.
I'll have to play it some more before I can tell if this audio fix is working or not.
Cheers, and thanks again for the tip.
Well there are also benefits to the remaster. Textures and Geometry do look better in many places. AA is better. The original was jaggy as hell.
The specular lighting should have been replaced with higher quality instead of just doing away with it IMO. I like a lot of what they did texture wise.
I mean i got this for free. I can't really whine, but yes they could have done so much more.
The only main pile of money was from console players that had never played it before. We pretty much knew this was going to be like Batman AA. I didn't turn out quite that bad but is very frustrating in that this could have been so good.
What do you mean the geometry is better?
well it's not about that. play the original, this is merely for looks. it's not a remake, its a remaster. just aesthetics. calm down, you still have the old game, right? jesus... this was FREE.....
No, I'm tired of hearing that crap. You can criticize this just as much as you want. They sell it on the store too.
