No audio when actually in game

I just decided to replay Bioshock since I got the remastered version for free, but there is no game audio when I have entered the game. The sound seems to be fine on the main menu and in the opening cutscene, but everything mutes past that even though none of my audio settings are actually muted. Has anybody else had this exact issue? How can I fix this?

Fixed here, so I guess you're using a headset? I'm using one here too.
To fix the problem, go to Audio Settings and put the Audio Mode in Stereo and turn off the "Use Reverb".

Worked for me.
