how do I deal with big daddys?

I encounert already 3 and I just don't know how to fight them.
I bought the hypnotize big daddy upgrade, but it didn't do ♥♥♥♥, they still just rushed to me.
They also eat bullets for breakfast, even if I use the bullets with extra damage against big daddys, often times, I shoot my entire bullet reserve in their face and they are still standing around.
The only way I beat the second was by keep respawning and shooting the 30 bullets I gain on respawn and then die.

Now I stuck at the third and I have no glue how to get past them, without repeatingly dying and to be honest: this really kills the fun and atmosphere of the game.

Any tipps that could help me?

The Hypnotize Plasmid is used for making a Big Daddy follow and protect you; it's not meant for killing one. Prepare for the fight, get as much armor piercing ammo as you can; keep stunning them with lightning or ice and put the shotgun to their face

If you are good with Telekinesis you can catch Rosie's mines in the air and throw them back. I keep screwing it up but it should work in theory.
Later on you have electric trap wires and proximity mines which makes hunting big daddies a breeze

i found that electro bolt and the crossbow works great :) hope youre enjoing the game

I had to restart my game due to the glitches but I use Electro Bolt Plasmid and the electro buck(?) from shotguns to deal with Rosies and theyve been effective so far (I was in Tea Garden/Rolling Hills area before I had to start over)

The Hypnotize Big Daddy is helpful if you wanna pit them against each other but it eats up a lot of Eve to keep them following you til you encounter your next Rosie.

Security Bullseye!!! The trick is to set off the alarm on unhacked security cameras and then hit the Big Daddy with SB. I have beat the game on survival and you can kill Big Daddies like this without using any ammo.

Well, I wanted to enjoy the game, but joy got kidnapped by the big daddys and only after one steam disscusion and investigation, I could find it with broken kneecaps in a hidden basement and now it needs medical healthcare.

In short: It heavily damage my joy for the game, but not completly

Hoard proximity mines and load them all in one spot. If he gets hit with it that first blast should take off a good chunk of his health.
