Why can't I take pictures/find the Spider Slicers?

My objective is to take pictures of three Spider Slicers, but I am having a hell of a time doing so.

I found and took a picture of the first one, naturally, but the last two are seemingly impossible.

According to the hints, one is supposed to be in the tavern, hotel room 5. When I go into the room, however, there is nothing. I walk around and don't see a Spider Slicer anywhere.

So, I went to find the other one, at the substation. I found her, killed her, and when I tried to take a picture of her, the quality was too low, and I only filled up the gauge 10% or so. But, I could take its picture. After three pictures or so, however, I can no longer take any photos that progress the gauge. She is just laying on the floor, and I am taking clear, close up shots. Why isn't it working?

I am extremely frustrated with this game. Navigating and finding goals is a pain. I wish the arrow were there the entire time to lead me. Otherwise, I end up walking around in circles accomplishing nothing.

Okay, so I resorted to exiting and starting my file from a point before killing the Spider Slicer. This time, I was able to take a picture of it. However, the third Spider Slicer is still NOWHERE to be found.

The ammount you get from pictures only affects research progression, has no bearing on the mission, although maximizing research is never bad.

Anyway, the one that didn't spawn, I'm pretty sure you need to pick up a certain audio log, or otehr item.

That objective made me uninstall the game. Too much time wandering around looking for a door or some other sh!t to take a pic of. The maps and hint system could have been a lot better,

this is much easier to get than you think, but you're right, it doesn't help they kinda get you wandering about aimlessly with no hints. here are some locations for you:

after you get the camera, go to the tunnel that's between the jet postal and mcdonaugh tavern.
make sure to have the camera equipped.

Jet Postal:
the second the door opens to jet postal, look up and take the picture. there's a spider splicer on the ceiling. if you're not quick enough, just go work your way to the back of jet postal, where she'll still be on the ceiling. if she spots you she'll scream and jump down to attack. you can take the picture then, too.
jet postal also has some film lying around so it's a good place to go first.

McDonaugh Tavern:
there's several in here.
again, the second the door opens, the first splicer standing in front of you is a spider splicer. he jumps into the ceiling but if you take the pic right as the door opens you'll get it.

second spider splicer is upstairs. the door at the end of the hall directly across from the staircase will be open and a spider splicer will be standing in front. take the picture immediately, but if you miss it's fine (he also jumps into the ceiling). go into that room where there's a safe and hack it.

when you exit that room, the third spider splicer will be on the ceiling in that hallway/balcony area. he'll scream out "here to visit the scum of the earth?!" so it's hard to miss him.

also it's best to not kill the splicer before taking the picture. taking picture of a corpse counts against the picture's score and can make it low enough that the picture isn't taken. i'm actually not 100% sure if it matters for that 3 splicer research pics goal but it doesn't hurt.
