Brightness slider doesn't do anything.
I bought the game during the summer sale and i'm currently having this strange problem. Verifying the game files did not help, neither did reinstalling it. I even tried changing some brightness values in the bioshock.ini but this did nothing. This game is kind of unplayable in this state since I can't see ♥♥♥♥. Anyone know anything about this?

Make sure you're not running in windowed or borderless window.

I am in fullscreen and I can click on the adjust brightness option. I can move the slider around but the brightness doesn't actually change.

Make sure you are looking at the rectangle in the center of the screen. That is what changes the brightness. You can adjust the brightness until the Rectangle is no longer visible or barely visible. This is where the setting should be best put.

I understand that, but nothing happens when I move the slider. For example, when I move the slider all the way to the right to max the brightness it's still as dark as it was before.

For me, slider works on original but does NOT work on Remastered.
Of the solutions out there 'disabling fullscreen optimizations' in properties worked for me.

I installed remastered on Win10 and disabling fullscreen optimizations did not fix the issue for me. The slider worked the first time I clicked it, the first time I ran the game, then reset to being very dark. I'm literally playing it in a dark room with my monitor brightness on maximum so I can kinda see what's going on to try and compensate.

I'm going to try adjusting some settings in default.ini, but the internet tells me that probably won't work.
