Wont let me play with controller

so i just bought bioshock remastered and it says it has FULL controller support but when i go to either turn the gamepad option ON or try to play in game it doesnt work and only k/m works so i just wanted to see if there was a solution to this. thanks

Make sure the controller is plugged in before starting the game.
Which kind of controller? 360 should works fine, for the others you might need Big Picture Mode.
Are you using Steam in Big Picture Mode? PS4 and XboxOne controller support usually need to be activated in it then the game think it's a 360 controller.
