Can't proceed after becoming a big daddy

I'm at point Prometheus, finished the big daddy suit, got a little sister, she opens the door for me... and when I get into the passage to the next level I press E to pass to wherever Fontaine had gone to nothing happens. the steel door locks behind me and it doesn't load the next level. anyone have any way of solving this? I tried verifying integrity already.

Hm, as far as I remember when she opens the door you get to follow her and protect her and then you get to an elevator. Is that where you are?

eveb before that.
I am at point prometheus, I gathered all the big daddy parts, summoned the little sister, and she opens the door to the proving grounds. now all I have to do is go after her, and press E at the door to the proving grounds. after I press E at the door, nothing happens , I'm just stuck there.

That doesnt sound familiar at all.
Maybe try the noclip cheat to see if you can progress further.
