How do I even start a game?

So I get to the main menu and choose versus or coop. Then I get to this page with P1-P4, some (A) and a (B). The only button that works is the (B), that goes back to main menu.

I can't do anything else. Pretty hilarious.

Thanks. I see now that it shows "press space or A to continue" or something like that. But space does nothing still. I've tried every single key on the keyboard :|
