How do I tame / saddle a horse?

Please tell me how to do this, I have a saddle, I press E on the horse and nothing happens

I believe you press X to put the saddle on the horse?

When you come up on a wild horse, chase it, get close to it, and press E while doing so. To saddle it, dismount, get close and press X. You can tame any horse on the island and ride it however long you want, but when you dismount it will walk away. If you find it, you can still ride it. The saddled horse is yours, and if you can't find it, just whistle (press Q).
