Report a translation problem
1. Go to game properties in Steam, browse local files.
2. Right click stronghold.exe and Troubleshoot Compatibility
3. Select the second option, Troubleshoot Program.
4. Leave the check box checked, click next and select Windows XP.
5. Press the Test Program button. You'll notice you now get the popup asking if Stronghold can save to your hard drive. Say yes.
6. The game opens. Set your name and change all your options. Save them. Exit.
7. Windows will ask you if it worked, say yes and tell it to save the settings for this program.
8. Close all that and open Stronghold through Steam. Does it ask if it can save? If so, done!
I was also able to alt tab after this fix.
