tips on fire safety please

I'm new to the game and fires have become a problem. Do I realy need to wall every thing off?

Walls do not help, at best if you can separate your economy into departments all far from eachother 1/3 Apple orchard width distance. Wells usually do not help and the firefighters are not immune to fire and they can catch it too so are very usueless... but you can make 1-2 of them and count you get lucky.
