Borderless Window [FIX] How to get out of full screen, alt tab issues.
I haven't seen many threads in regards to helping newer players or returning players get out of fullscreen mode, considering that the game will have a meltdown if you simply attempt to alt-tab.

I had a look around and some people recommended DXWND, which works perfectly if followed correctly, it was designed for older games.

Extract the files to another comfy folder.
Once done, open that there exe up like a good old can of beans.
Go to the top left and click on "File", then the third option "import"
Go to your comfy file extract and then find the folder "exports"
You'll be able to see a bunch of game titles in alphabetical order.
Scroll down to Stronghold Crusader HD. (Stronghold seems to be absent from the list, so just use this instead).
An ICON should be now seen in the main exe, right click and select modify.
Down the bottom you'll find a "Window initial position & size"
Adjust it accordingly ex: W:1920, H:1080.
(MAKE SURE "RUN IN WINDOW" IS CHECKED)

Try running the game through dxwnd after making these adjustments and boom, borderless Stronghold.

Please refrain misdirecting other people who have a genuine interest in making this game more modern, this is not a virus. If it's being displayed as a virus to your firewall, it's because it's required to make changes to your Stronghold files in order for it to be forced into windowed mode.

The game will still not work in borderless mode, even after correcting the file path.
I'm using Stronghold HD, can you clarify how you got it working a bit more? Thanks.

all I gotta say is I own Stronghold HD and I can freely easily alt+tab in and out of it whenever with 0 issues.

nor do I have any border issues with it.

ill admit tho I do have it from Good Old Games. but. Note that I do nonetheless run/play it threw steam with the overlay feature on and still as I said no issues alt+tabbing it at any time
