Compatibility Mode - Steam is Overriding
Hey all,

I'm getting the flickering screen bug with Stronghold HD. This is easily fixed by going to the .exe and enabling compatibility mode for windows 7 (in my case). However here's where it gets a touch weird...

If I launch directly through the .exe everything works perfectly. However if I launch through Steam my compatibility settings are being reset and the flickering returns. Can anyone help me out with getting steam to stop overriding my settings?

Cheers!

I actually did manage to fix this. I should have updated the thread!

So go to Stronghold.exe as you normally would to enable compatibility mode, but instead of setting the compatibility the important part is to click the button at the bottom of that window "Change settings for all users." This stops steam from overriding your compatibility settings when you start the game.

Then in there I selected compatibility mode for windows 7, Override high DPI scaling behaviour and Run this program as admin.

This has sorted the issue and I can now launch through steam with no problem. I hope that helps :)

I did the change settings for all users and it seems to have stopped. Was launching it directly just so it wouldnt keep flickering, thanks seems good now.

If it's helped, it was worth putting into text. Good stuff!
