to get money you have to sold some items you have to build a market (i can't remenber the exact name sorry).
for example if you have a lot of food, like 300-500 you can sell it for 1000 gold more or less. You can give more food for exemple double ration, and have +8 of popularity and you can put tax -6 so your people will like you (+2)
