Stronghold Crusader similar games ?

So, i really like this game, i caught myself playing this over and over (super fun game), but, at the same time i really want to play similar games to this, any advice ??


i've played the Age of Empire games, didn't liked that much (also, i don't think they aged very well like Crusader did)

and, i also try to play Red Alert/Tiberium Wars, but, they were fine, but too simple, also tried to play Total War but, i hated the turned base stuff, and the fact that you don't actually see the stuff that you are building (which is why i like Crusader so much, building and fortifying the castle is awesome)... :(


but anyways, what am really looking for it's, a game that i can build my base/castle (also, it doesn't have to be medieval, just the same mechanics), but same as Crusader, you have to manage a town/base's resources and all that stuff !! Again, Crusader is an awesome ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, but it's so unique, that it makes it harder to find similar games !!

In Total War it isn't just turn based but instead you can have huge real time battles which is more of, what I think, it was made for. Age of Empires 2 has aged perfectly with a large population still playing vanilla (although they usually had to turn to server creating services because of Ensemble Studios being closed) and AoE 3 was fine but not the greatest in fact it still has some impressive graphics aside from units. If you haven't said that you didn't like turn based then I would suggest Civilization... I don't think there are much games like Stronghold although there is a free game called Kingdom Wars that you might want to check out.

Rise of Nations Extended edition

I suggest you to play " The lord of the rings : battle for middle earth " and " The lord of the rings : battle for middle earth II ". They combine the stronghold mechanics with the fantasy elements but the problem is that they are not on steam. I hope i've been helpful :)

Yeah, I suggest Forshire (website) or IGG games free download if you don't want to pay an outrageous amount for the game. Luckily, I own the cds though. I've heard the best from these two sites
