(Updated) I've played a bit more and honestly there's barely any story yet. I'd say about half an hour worth of content. Also for some reason, my playtime didn't update. I think i clocked almost an hour already and that's about it. There's no more content to it. That said, I think the game has potential to be good but it really needs better combat mechanics and the ability to sprint. For now, you could say the game is in a.......Failed State. Haha please don't flag this comment. But seriously other than that, I don't think I'm going to change my review and I'd still support the devs in hopes the game will get better.

Old review:

Ok so I've waited for this game for quite some time now. It has been on my wishlist for so long, I forgot it existed. That said, when I received the notification that this game got released today, I instantly bought it.

I've played for a bit and I think it's enough to say a thing or two about the game.

First off, I genuinely think the game has a good concept. You have a safehouse. You go out and get supplies and get stuff done for your end-game journey (I assume) to somewhere far away. I think in that premise, the game has a direction to it and therefore, a seemingly compelling story. I haven't played long enough to tell how good the story is. I might update this comment in the future.

Secondly, I feel like although the sidescrolling thing is something I really enjoy, I felt like the melee combat can be kind of slow and the ranged aiming to be a little tricky even after adjusting sensitivity. I am however, still giving this a thumbs up because in my very personal opinion, it does not hinder me from enjoying the game. I would still appreciate if the devs looked into the combat mechanics of the game and polished it a lot more.

Other than that, I'd really recommend to buy the game and support the devs. I'm confident the devs will make this game way better in the near future


**NOTE: When you start the game, it'll be in Russian. But don't panic because just go to the 2nd menu from the top and in that menu, pick the 2nd option as well and choose your desired language with the arrow keys.

I'm very upset with the state of this game. I have wishlisted this game for more than a year and even played the demo. When I saw the game being released I instantly bought it. I expected that the developers would add at least 3 hours of gameplay with new locations to finally explore. In reality the only new thing that was added was the sewer area and some minor tweaks to the story. You can literally complete this early access game in 30 to 40 minutes. Everything else is actually good, the pixel graphics look great and the game mechanics are simplistic, but they get the job done. The main problem is that this game doesn't have any gameplay to go with and I don't believe that the developers will be able to add much more. In my opinion, this type of game that they are working for can't work without at least 5 hours of gameplay, a strong story, and some kind of advanced crafting system and trading mechanics for items you collect. I just expected this game to be successor to "the final station" so it dosen't make sense for me to want anything less than what that game offers. For reference,I wouldn't mind to pay more money for more content and I will change my review if the developers add more gameplay, story, and mechanics for this game. However, I really doubt they will be able to accomplish all this. It just looks like the game is some sort of development hell and the developers don't know where to go with this game.

I would like to preface this by wishing Steam had a 'neutral' option for reviews.

This game is cool so far. The art style is well done, the side-scrolling gameplay works really well, and so far it is a fun game. I love the concept, and the scavenging gameplay is a good concept that works well in this game. The game is simple at what it does, and it does effectively. Overall, the game itself is good, however...

There is one thing that really bothers me:

This game is a stunning example on why developers need writers and editors on their teams.
I fully understand that Siberian Digital is an independent developer/publisher out of Russia, and that English is most likely not the first language of the devs. However, the lack of grammar, common spelling mistakes, clunky language, and mistranslations is really throwing me off from enjoying the game. Especially so since there are a ton of people (myself included!) who would happily edit and fix these mistakes for a low cost, if not for free (and I would happily do it!).

I shall go over some of the pros and cons of this game that are my own opinion. do note that this game is in alpha as i am writing this.

pros:

The story is great at sucking you in to this girl's life and personality, and immerses you in the game.
AWESOME atmosphere
great pixel graphics and sound.
You can run this game if you can open notepad
The game doesn't cost that much
The game mechanics are simplistic
You can use keyboard and mouse or controllers to play the game

cons:

The aiming could do with some work
I am still learning the controls (that might be my fault)
There are too many enemies to fight at certain points in the game
i have dreams about dead doggos
it doesn't have much story (it is in alpha tho)

I still recommend this game because it is a really fun game. Please support the devs they deserve it.

This game has a good concept but it's a buggy mess.
-The game would freeze over random action you do, I had to start over at least 2 times because reloading the last save won't fix it.
-The graphic hasn't been fully polished, you can see layering errors and old graphic show up when a character is doing certain activities.
-NPC ai is bugged sometimes.

This game has potential, but I'm not going to recommend this to anyone until it receive a better result.

This game needs a lot of work, i get that its "in early development" but if you can't get your object or sprite layering right maybe it should not be released just yet.... I like the atmosphere its dim sets the tone of what you would expect from an apocalypse stand point, but its ruined by a confusing story line. I can't bring myself to play it more in it's current state. So it shall lay dormant in my library until my big brain can decode the plot and the weird sprite swapping when ever i do some things.

It's a fun platform point and click type game, but pretty short takes about an hour or so to beat. great story line I just hope they continue on with the story and create more levels etc. I would love continue to play it. I feel its still worth buying at least try it out for yourself never know you might like it.

Not bad for early alpha, the only thing that I really didn´t like was the grammar. Once the game is finished, I will give it one more look.

control so suck with shooting

A lot of people have so far given this game bad rep for being so short, but I think they forget this is an early access game and a lot of people forget what that means. When you buy this game you're not paying for a full game, you're paying to support the game because you like what you see so far, early access games aren't finished games and you should not expect them to be, now that's out of the way here's my review.

So far the game is progressing in a good way, and what they've done so far in the alpha demo is great and left me wanting to play more, the soundtrack is great and fits the atmosphere really well along with the SFX design too, although that is lacking in a few areas. The visuals are beautiful and a pleasure to look at while playing through the game and on top of that, they're being overhauled and from what's been shown so far it looks great. I do have a few complaints though, as much as I appreciate how fast and seamless the looting in the game is it does leave much to be desired, I just want to be able to see what's in the draw I'm looking in and click and drag everything to loot it, just pressing E leaves my brain thinking that I should've done more to gain those items.

The gun play and PvP is very clunky, when aiming it's very restricted, with the small cone of vision to aim up and down it just makes PvP feel controlled, I want to be able to aim exactly where I want to shoot with my mouse appearing as a cross-hair on my screen rather than as if I had a long stick with my cross-hair on the end of it. PvP in the game is very, awkward and needs more, there's no real indicator that you're taking damage, there should be some sort of hurt sound effect or red filter on the screen when being hit and also low health, right now you just take damage from enemies being next to you then you just die. The ammo mechanic I can see getting quite annoying, not being able to save bullets in a clip is a feature that just doesn't make much sense, you should be able to save those clips at least for when you're low on ammo, every bullet should count really.

That moves me onto my last complaint about the gun play, and is something that kind of ruins the fun when playing. You can't reload while walking, with the speed of the enemies and also the time it takes to reload movement is all you have to defend yourself from getting hurt so the fact that you can't move is a big downfall, I really hope this changes along with many other things I mentioned.

My review does mainly consist of negatives about the game but, if this game keeps going on its path and worked on a few things that I mentioned, I really think it could be a great game. When/if the changes I talked about are worked upon/implemented, I will update my review.

I recommend this game if you'd like to support them in developing it and you'd like to see where it goes.
