We had the same sequence with the Throne packs: we released 2 female packs, and as we saw interest for a male counterpart, we also got that covered. New packs are usually up to the artist to decide which gender they'd be happier with, and Elena is generally more comfortable with females. I'll ask what she thinks, and if she deems it worthy to create a male pack, we will make it happen.
Should make a male riders pack regardless, it's actually pretty sexist to only have one gender being able to ride a horse. I'd hire a new artist at that point if they can't draw for both genders, Elena will become more comfortable drawing males if she drew male stuff more, that's LITERALLY how these things works. Take for example me being a musician of a metal music, I can write pretty dope metal because I'm comfortable with it but I'm learning other genres too so I can expand my tool-set so to speak. Elena should expand her tool-set by drawing males more. In fact, for a tool like this, both genders should get access to all options, is that a lot of work? Yes. Will it annoy your artists? Yes. Will it make them better artists than they were before? Most definitely. It'd be a win-win for everyone.
Hey, thanks for your comment! I fully understand what you are saying - I play the drums myself, and since you mentioned metal, I actually attended Architects & Sleep Token last night. It was a great gig. Let me know if there's anything available from you to listen to, I'd love to check it out!
Speaking of new packs, it's always a balance of creative freedom and making something from a business perspective. Female packs generally sell better so when there is a choice of doing something the artist is better at, and also being more in demand, it's an easy first pick. If the packs sell well, that means we were able to deliver something that people actually wanted, then it makes sense to create more of that, and the first addition is usually the counterpart from the other gender.
While I'd love to have a Male Rider in the app, unfortunately at this point it's highly unlikely. Since AI generators became mainstream a year ago, all revenue from our app dropped by around 95%, so at this point it doesn't make sense for us to keep releasing new content as the work required to create them will simply never be paid for. We are still exploring other opportunities to enhance the overall quality of the generated images and introduce new systems that could make generations easier and better, but all this is still experimental.
I hope this helps, and sorry for the inconvenience this might cause!
It makes sense that AI art has killed off apps like this.
