Voice chat is very quiet

I've been playing this game with 6 other friends, but the output volume seems really quiet when people speak, we can barely hear each other in game even when we are very close to one another.

On Discord the volume is fine, we can all hear each other with no issue so for now we've been using Discord.

If anyone has any suggestions or possible fixes for this I would appreciate it, it would also just be nice if the game VOIP options could be raised further than 1.0...

Edit: We've tested volume through steam voice chat as well, we are all really loud in that and it seems that we are all only quiet in-game.

As the microphone gain volume is already boosted x1.25 under the hood (and last patch it was 2x which we received many complaints of microphones blowing out) we're probably not going to mess with the volume much more.

My recommended solution is increasing your desktop volume overall, and decrease game Master Volume if you need to. VOIP isn't attached to the Master Volume slider which allows this to work.

We're looking at some better longterm solutions but this will certainly fix the issue in the meantime.

Ah this is super useful information, me and my friends had no idea that Master volume didn't apply to VOIP, this helps a lot and has solved the issue. Thank you for the helpful reply!

I've also had an issue where only two of my friends could not hear anyone in-game, we've found a solution that worked for us (on Windows 10):

Open sound settings > Change output device from "default" to whatever else is on there (Realtek Audio is what my friends had) and that seems to fix it for us
