or... come play in pubs, where I will be doing those things to make ghosts not be trusted as much.
Also, you could just like... not do that... thats a solution... you said that its a priivate game...
The feature should be straight up removed and replaced.
People intentionally greifing should not be used to justify a lack of balance. This logic isn't far from justifying a weaker monster because you can just kill Spacemen at random if it bothers you.
I've had people obviously going "Is the monster X?" And then flicker the lights/make a noise if it is. This can happen after maybe only two deaths, and out of 8-10 players? That's pretty significant.
Granted I've seen some people play creatively with this. A monster will change their color immediately upon playing and 'never' reveal their true color. This means that ghosts can see you, but they never really can figure out your true color until more people die and they go "So it wasn't X. Who was it then?"
I'd say may as well make it an option in the games to allow ghosts to flicker lights/make noises or not. Simple enough. Although ghosts not being able to do anything but spectate is pretty boring imo.
Especially if a few friends are in a game, it's very easy to snitch
There are at most 3 tribunals, usually 2. The monster has to save his trump card for these moments where he couldn't possibly be safe. On the other hand, just showing up as an eaten color is usually enough to stay safe for a tribunal.
