Relatar um problema com a tradução
you want to talk about "spitting in the face of peoples hard work" what about you wanting the original voice actors replaced with someone elses voice just because you dont want to listen to the game in japanese
dubs cost extra money
games with dual audio often make subtitles for the english track so the original japanese track is incorrect
(this is also a localization problem, sometimes localization teams take too many liberties and our subtitles end up being wrong)
japanese games that have dubs oftentimes do not include the original audio
you may not realize it or dont care but for the rest of us that actually do like the original audio its a problem
Also, you brought back a dead thread to be essentially very rude with your message.
The thread had been dead for a long time.
There is no valid reason to even begin to bring back this topic at all.
Please do not magically think dubs are somehow evil or bad, or that they actually spit in the face of people's hard work. That's an insane statement to make.
and i didnt know the thread was old i was alt tabbed on another game (paladins) waiting for a friend to get back when i clicked on the forums, it was still on the front page and i had the game on my wishlist so i saw the netcode update which is why i was even here in the first place
and 3 i do hate dubs (call me elitest or whatever) but atleast i wasnt trying to blow up other posters over it like he was towards me, go back and really read what he wrote
anyhow ill drop it, i said what i wanted to say im not trying to start a flame war in a dead post
To be perfectly honest, dual audio would be the best of both worlds, and, in an ideal world, that's how it would be.
It's not that I don't want the Japanese voices (hell, I loved Muramasa: The Demon Blade, and I can not see Kisuke as voiced by anyone other than Hiroyuki Yoshino), it's just that the way you worded it sounded pretty venomous (or maybe I just interpreted it as such, I don't know).
Besides, most modern localizations get the overall message right (unless they're hack jobs like Fire Emblem Fates apparently was, but I digress), and some liberties can be taken if that's the end goal. For example, the bear puns in Persona 4 being a way to translate Teddie's -kuma verbal tic in a region-appropriate manner.
When I played it on 3DS, I learned to associate the characters with the dub track, and I made this thread a while back because of that. It's not important in the grand scheme, but preferences are preferences.
Besides, I never intended to spit in the faces of the original Japanese actors. I'm sure they did a great job with the original track, I just have my preferences.
I apologize if I came off as an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I never intended for that to happen.
I'm catching up on this thread and it does not look like there is a way at this time.
I think we have the option of muting the Japanese dub and reading the text though. I'm not sure how much dialogue occurs during actual gameplay or if their is a chat log if you miss something.
At that point, even the staunchest Japanophobic might as well use the original Japanese (that, or look for a playthough of the 3DS version). Ehh, not really a problem either way.
Why? If the 3DS version has something, why can't the PC players have it also? I would like the Switch version to be ported to the PC.
Did you have to ressurect the thread by trolling? That's just rude.
Why did you bump a 2 year old dead thread for literally no reason what so ever, other than to completely ignore how linear time works, and to be rude?
To answer your question, because I'm a proponent of choice, the English dub was pretty good, and dual audio, whenever possible, is always the best of both worlds.
