1) Launch X-Morph: Defense
2) Open Steam overlay - shift+tab by default
3) Right-click the friend you want to play with on the friends list and invite them to play
And you should be set. Let us know if there are any issues!
But i got to ask, is there anyway to make both player use controller or k-board+mouse at the same time?
The game force you to use diffrent for each player, and i totaly understand that as its a slipscreen game, but steam have change alot not with the remote play
Tho i have a xbox controller for PC so for me it work good anyway, just need to learn how to use it
In my case, I (who own and start the game) use a xbox one controller, and my friend uses his keyboard+mouse, but he is not able to control the game from neither keyboard nor the mouse.
May I know if you tested with the same setup? This setup works well for other games, so we are not sure if it is a bug of X-Morph or not.
Thanks in advanced!
When you play with the Steam remote local feature, you're not playing online in a broad sense, but in a local sense. This is basically like playing couch-coop, but with one of the 2 controls source located at a remote location.
To allow the 2 players to play with Mouser & Keyboard, you would have to be able to use 2 different keyboards & mouses on one PC. The issue isn't about having the 2 devices to work at the same time, but to have a different listener calls ID on both set of devices.
By default, a Windows OS doesn't recognize separate keyboards as separate user inputs.
It's possible with controllers because the Port BUS recognize the controllers separately.
Keyboard, on the other hand, have not the same kind of Port BUS identification. (Let's say that you plug 2 keyboard and press M on both. It will return an identical key code. If you do the same with a controller, it return a different key code such as Controller0, Controller1, etc.)
The lack of control within the menus from the Keyboard & Mouse from a remove user while the local user uses the controller is usually something related to the way the controls are attributed to each players. If the Local Remote feature actually force-attribute the remote player as a 2nd player and a game purposely only allow the 1st player to be in controls of the menu when in couch-coop, that would explains the problem.
Some games doesn't have that problem as they simply listen to all players' devices while in the menus.
Sometimes, when the stream starts, my controller is not detected. We usually stop remote ,play, restart it and it might work. Or we just restart the game I don't remember.
But anyway, we always manage to play both with our controller, I can guarantee that.
I did test it and use KB+M myself and the other use controller and it work.
Not 100% sure if the other can use KB+M when you use controller, but i do belive it work that way.
