it's mostly a singleplayer game. so i think, just let ppl play how they want.
If some people paid to cheat on a solo game, it's their choice, and it's not mine.
And yes, of course devs are aware of it... they are the developers. :)
Not saying it's a bad thing, like i said. I've done some stuff myself. Edited the tech and upgrade points and the amount of resources you get etc, etc. Just wish i knew how to modify the damage on some of the X-Morph's weapons or the explosion radius to really get that "Michael Bay" feeling.
I guess it's the same as modding but it's basically cheating if you think about it. You're making the game significantly easier. Hell, with unlimited resources, you could build so many towers that anything that comes their way just gets ripped to shreds, evens super-heavy units. Was actually really funny the first time i saw it happen. Just built a ton of plasma towers and anti-air units. Nobody could touch me or the core lmao.
Just thought i should make it known that this is easily achieved is all.
We believe that the community will benefit more if we open up the game's systems to the public instead of securing everything. If you want to edit the various scripts in the game you can just extract them from the main .zip file and place them in the appropriate folder structure. We haven't posted a proper modding tutorial yet, but we will.
Our current priority number one is fixing all of the bugs that are being reported. We'll move on to expanding the game and proper mod support as soon as we've covered the most important issues.
I love you.
Seriously, there's not nearly enough of this sort of thing. Long after most of us who have bought the game will have tired of the campaign, mods will extend the replayability tenfold (not to mention you guys can play it too).
More power to you, and by all means, open up as much as you can :)
