You know people can just go into the config files and get unlimited resources right?
Not gonna tell people how to do it as i don't promote cheating but .... it can happen, easily. I've managed to do it myself. (it's fun but terribly broken) Are the devs aware of this?. It basically allows you to CHEAT on the game. You can just build an infinite number of say laser towers, laser anti-air defenses, missile anti-air defense, flame towers for smaller units and artillery towers nearby to back them up. If an enemy manages to get past all of that, then i congratulate the AI's programmer...

Hell, i think that's enough to stop a boss too. He probably wouldn't even get close to your base if you build all of that on his predicted path route.

Wonder what the devs' opinions are on this.

i don't really see the problem here. if someone want to cheat they'll cheat anyway.

it's mostly a singleplayer game. so i think, just let ppl play how they want.

mods are the same as cheating in single player games. you change the rules to your liking. and no one hates mods

Like DaPhuuLz said.
If some people paid to cheat on a solo game, it's their choice, and it's not mine.

And yes, of course devs are aware of it... they are the developers. :)

This is just one of the perks of playing on PC, you get to enjoy the game in ways you can't on consoles. Sure its unethical for people to do it on multiplayer, but whats wrong with playing the way you want it on a single player? Besides, what if you want to spice it up and have fun in ways you couldn't on your legit run? I feel a dark enjoyment in the thought of all human forces getting blown up the second they enter the map. I don't see why you word it in a way that makes it sound bad as pirating the game.

Not saying it's a bad thing, like i said. I've done some stuff myself. Edited the tech and upgrade points and the amount of resources you get etc, etc. Just wish i knew how to modify the damage on some of the X-Morph's weapons or the explosion radius to really get that "Michael Bay" feeling.

I guess it's the same as modding but it's basically cheating if you think about it. You're making the game significantly easier. Hell, with unlimited resources, you could build so many towers that anything that comes their way just gets ripped to shreds, evens super-heavy units. Was actually really funny the first time i saw it happen. Just built a ton of plasma towers and anti-air units. Nobody could touch me or the core lmao.

Just thought i should make it known that this is easily achieved is all.

We are aware of this, but this is the PC and the game is single player. If you want to have fun with it by modding the content. Please go ahead :) We've implemented some simple rules for filtering out "broken" leaderboard entries, but if someone really wants to cheat the leaderboards, then there's no 100% way of stopping them. They can always do memory edits on the fly and inject whatever they want.

We believe that the community will benefit more if we open up the game's systems to the public instead of securing everything. If you want to edit the various scripts in the game you can just extract them from the main .zip file and place them in the appropriate folder structure. We haven't posted a proper modding tutorial yet, but we will.

Our current priority number one is fixing all of the bugs that are being reported. We'll move on to expanding the game and proper mod support as soon as we've covered the most important issues.

I love you.

Seriously, there's not nearly enough of this sort of thing. Long after most of us who have bought the game will have tired of the campaign, mods will extend the replayability tenfold (not to mention you guys can play it too).

More power to you, and by all means, open up as much as you can :)

Says the guy who admitted he cheated yet doesn't promote cheating. And won't share with people how to do it. What's even the point of this post?
