"Sign in Status" Error with Epic Games on Bazzite Linux
Have launched the game previously and was able to run the tutorial. Am attempting to launch again and am unable to interact with the main menu after a throbber indicates “Sign in Status” which seems to be trying to link the account to an Epic Games account. Upon initial launch I cancelled the account association to Epic Games as the executable appeared unable to launch or interact with a Web Browser session.

Any idea how to resolve this? Appears that bypassing the account linkage has broken the game.

Same here. Nothing shows up, I can't cancel it, and it doesn't time out.

ETA: I "fixed" it by flailing around on my controller until it decided to let me do anything and then I disabled Epic account linking in the settings.
I am having a similar issue on Linux. Can't get past the license agreement and account link screen to play the game. Submitted a bug report.

You can try what I suggested above - I genuinely just hit buttons on my controller until something happened. You can get out of the "sign in status" this way, but the menu will be frozen. I had to keep hitting buttons until it suddenly allowed me to control the menu, and then I could get to the settings menu and go to "Extras" to disable Epic account linking. This isn't very helpful but I'm guessing that whatever it's trying to display is invisible and you need to cancel out of it.

Alternatively something you could try is going to ".steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/4078430/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/StarWarsGalacticRacer/Saved/Config/Windows/" and deleting gameusersettings.ini entirely. I tried deleting just the entries for Epic account linking, or setting them to false, and it didn't work, but deleting it entirely might.

Well I removed that file from that directory completely, relaunched and got stuck in the same spot. I've been mashing on my controller a good while now and can't seem to get past the Privacy Policy screen. If I mash A on startup it seems like I can skip past the first two but I always get stuck on the screen that says Link Epic Account if I make it past the others.

I tried re-enabling the Epic account link in the settings just to see if I could find a consistent method to get past it but this bug seems completely inconsistent. First it seemed to require button presses, then I could just wait to get past the "sign in status" loading screen, and then it just worked (for some reason, considering I've never logged in.)

I also don't see a "Link Epic Account" screen at all on my end. Really weird - wish I could help more but I'm more confused than ever.

Set Steam to offline mode, then you can continue.
After you're in, disable the Epic stuff.
Go online again and you're good.

Right you are mate. Thanks. Game starts up just fine now.
It appears as though the application is trying to make an OAuth browser launch to sign into Epic Games and completely locks out input to the application. The user is required to force quit the application, re-verify game files and then re-launch to resolve the issue. Disabling Epic Games sign-in seems to fix the problem.

Am playing with an Xbox controller on PC (Steam OS & Bazzite Linux), but also regression tested multiple controller input types. (PS4, PS5, Steam Controller, and Keyboard)

Setup to reproduce error--

- Fresh installation of the game
- Launch application
- Skip Epic Games Sign In
- Enter main menu
- Quit Application
- Launch application
- "Sign in Status" Interstitial message appears
- User input is locked
- Force quit application
- Re-verify game files
- Launch application
- Enter main menu
- Access Settings
- Disable Epic Games Sign-In
- Problem resolved
