Everyone wanted pod racing, they made speeder racing. Speeder racing is cool, I wish it was pod racing - I'm pretty sure I'll like it anyway.

But since there are some pods, maybe at some point in the future we get real pod racing.
There's pod racing, and an entire multiplayer category dedicated to podracing, just not the main campaign goals.
This game will die so fast. The tracks don’t look that compelling (from a racing standpoint and from a Star Wars immersive standpoint) They even shortened the iconic Tatooine map dramatically. I’m a huge Star Wars fan and even I feel like I’m being gaslit into believing this is the greatest Star Wars game (or even racing game) in forever. Play-testers and reviewers are a plague on the industry.

The original had:
- Anti gravity sections that you had to carefully maneuver around floating astroids.
- Ramps that required enough speed and for you to pull back on the stick to successfully glide huge gaps otherwise you’d fail to make it.
- Obstacles such as alternating doors, rotating doors, and dynamic explosions that would change the track usually by the second or third lap.
- A compelling and difficult 9 minute Boonta Eve Classic race, which is now down to a 3 minute race. They removed the Tusken Raiders shooting at you section for example too.
- Difficult tracks. Many felt like you were weaving a bullet through impossible layouts. The tracks were also more artistically interesting, varied, and even the announcers felt far more Star Wars than the current Galactic Racer.
- Wattos shop. Buying, the junkyard, and watching your pod grow over time.

We traded interesting track design for ugly “heat tunnels” to warm up your speeder.

I feel from a purely racing and progression standpoint, the original outshines it.

I’m also disappointed by the quantity of planets and how many of them are from the Disney Era.

But yeah hop on any stream in the last week and it’s like the play tester is trying to tell you a thousand times over how much fun they’re having when they’re driving in straight lines, up and down wide bank sections, in wide generic speeders, on unremarkable Disney Era maps.
Episode 1 with pod racing wasn't the only star wars with racing in it and simply remaking the old pod racing game could've been problematic fighting people's nostalgia. Over the many years we've had the speeder bikes chase on Endor, Swoop Bike chases/races from Shadows of the Empire and KOTOR, Speeder chases in Attack of the Clones, Han Solo movie and more. So why not have a bit of everything?

This 100 bro! Like games used to be good, they hire d to many people who dont like games to make games.
Looks like it is back to waiting for Deathgrip to come out.

Added bonuses... it will be cheaper and not come bundled with spyware.

I mean... In Pod Racer's defense, it holds up well despite its age. That said, Galactic Racer looks insanely fun. I hope I get to try it out and play with the Skim Racer.

It's not a live service game, why are you claiming it's going to die so fast....like that matters much in anyway?
